Nine Months.

It is kind of surreal that my little baby – Baby Blueberry – is nine months old today. Seriously – wasn’t she just born? Didn’t we just bring her home from the hospital, like, yesterday? Wasn’t it just last week that I was writing Bump Reports about what kind of vegetable she compared to and wondering if I was cut out for this whole Mother of Two business?

baby blueberry - the beginning

Sometimes I’m still not sure if I’m cut out for it, but here she is, much bigger than a blueberry and I call her “the baby” but more and more she is becoming a kid – learning new things every day and taking the wheel of her life and driving off into the sunset. She wears size 12 month clothing (sometimes 18 month!) and is cruising the furniture, determined to learn how to walk as soon as possible. She can eat a large majority of the foods we’re eating and no longer cares for most pureed foods, preferring finger foods immensely. But just yesterday…

literally yesterday

Seriously? They say kids grow up fast and as mothers we know this to be true – heck, I’ve done this before so it shouldn’t be surprising but it is. It always is. One day I am flabbergasted at how big MM is getting – how long and lean and mature he’s becoming it. And then I blink and BB is trailing behind him, seemingly growing in between nap times. One month ago is a life time of difference compared to today. Nine months ago? Surreal.
