Aloha: Bundt Cakes

my new bundt pan

One of the many amazing things my MIL is known for is her holiday rum cakes. They are so amazing that people have been known to beg for them annually to the point where she is now responsible for baking a couple dozen each holiday season for all of her loved ones. I’m not exaggerating when I say that she might be Wonder Woman.

Unfortunately, this year she is undergoing treatment for breast cancer, so she has understandably decided to take a year off from this now time-honored tradition. My husband was more than a little distraught at the idea of a rum cake-less Christmas so he did what any booze soaked cake-obsessed man would do and bought me a bundt cake pan then emailed his mommy to please send him her recipe so that I can attempt coming close to that magic for him this year.

I hope I can live up to her glory. Meanwhile, I find myself intrigued with these strange circular pans with fun designs and I’ve been googling bundt cake recipes all morning, planning various culinary experiments to try while I get used to my pretty new pan.

Random google searches are fine and dandy of course, but you know when I really want to get to the heart of a subject and find the best of what’s out there, well, I turn to you bloggy readers of mine – because you’ve always got the goods to deliver.

So my Aloha Friday question this week is:

Do you have a bundt cake recipe that I need to make like right now?

Not into bundts? No biggie! I’d love it if you would share any of your favorite holiday recipes!
