Today
Outside my window: it’s been a bit cooler lately after quite the heatwave last week. Weather here has been all over the place. It’s either hot and humid in the 80′s or raining and thunderstorms and then cloudy and cold in the 40′s. Can’t I just have mid-60′s and 70′s please? This week’s forecast looks promising so I’m crossing my fingers.
This weekend: was kind of a blur of errands and productivity plus some classic cookout action on Sunday night, but ‘cept we ate inside. But there were grilled burgers and dogs, pasta salad, deviled eggs and brownies for dessert. Basically heaven.
I also: have been looking at thrift stores and such for some deals on dressers for the kids, some kind of storage thing for the living room (like a large nightstand to put game controllers and extra whatnots) and also some outdoor toys for the kids, etc. So far no luck, but I’ll keep looking!
I’m reading: Breakfast at Tiffany’s by Truman Capote which counts towards my Classics Self Challenge (thank goodness, because it’s been awhile!) ; Afterwards I’m planning to read Fifth Avenue 5 a.m. by Sam Wasson which is all about the making of the movie, Breakfast at Tiffanys.

- Love this idea from Simple Kids to create a letter writing kit. I’ve been meaning to do this, especially as MM has gotten more into writing. I think this would be a great way to encourage keeping in touch with relatives or friends who live farther away, or even people nearby for fun!
- Don’t these strawberry crumb bars from Smells Like Home look deeeelicious? I want them now.

One last picture to share before I go: Just ’cause.

Love that mowing picture for some odd reason. I think it’s the blooming tree and the simple mundane.
