Daybook: October 3rd

Today

Outside my window: we are having a very welcomed stretch of beautiful fall weather, with temps just touching the 70′s hopefully for the rest of the week. Leaves are falling and the kids are enjoying shuffling through the fallen leaves as we go to and from and the bus stop each day.

This weekend: Dan and I went on a date! I got all dressed up and we went to a fancy Italian restaurant – the kinds you never take small children to that probably don’t even have children’s menus. I’m so glad we took a chance and tried this new to us place because the food was divinely good and exactly what we were in the mood for.

Afterwards we went to the small theater across the street and saw 50/50. This theater mainly shows the more artsy / intelligent films (truthfully 50/50 was a bit low brow for them, though a really good movie) and charges a bit more than the other theaters, but the fringe benefit to going there is that it’s mostly patroned by adults, they sell better snacks and drinks and the seats are much more comfortable. We will definitely go back to both places.

We also: had a fun impromptu cookout with our neighbors who were thankfully free on such short notice. The weather played along beautifully and I was almost a little too good at whipping up a meal for our two families in less than two hours. I also made the PW’s blackberry cobbler which was devoured too quickly to take pictures! It was a perfect weekend.

Right now I’m reading: A Little Bit Wicked by Kristin Chenoweth and still adoring it! Kristin is tremendously funny and likable and her life is far more interesting than I’d ever realized.

Pins you should click: because I’m hopelessly addicted…

Plans for the week: It’s a busy week! We’ve got pumpkin picking tomorrow, a walk with friends on Wednesday, a coffee shop play date on Thursday and story time on Friday. All of course assuming that BB is healthy.

One last picture to share before I go: random kinda blurry snapshot of reading the kids a bedtime story this weekend, taken by handsome husband.
