So Katie Evans Photography is running a Photoberfest photography challenge to help people take better pictures and win fun prizes, with a theme for each week. Last week’s theme was food and while I had a lot of fun drooling over all the photos other participants entered, I found myself doing very little cooking last week between one health calamity and another, etc. etc. excuses, excuses.
Well this week’s theme is kids! And um, yeah, I have no excuses not to take a bagillion gorgeous pics of the kids. It helps that they are gorgeous all on their own with no help from me whatsoever. All I really need to do is stand around and wait for them to do something adorable and then “click” right?
Katie had a lot of great tips for taking great pictures of your kids which you can read about here. You’ve got until Friday to take some amazing pictures of your own tiny ones if you want to enter the contest, too. Do it! Do it! Peer pressure!
So today I spent some time with my two favorite models and my favorite DSLR camera and came up with like 30 pictures possibly worth entering but since I can only enter 3 a week, I’m going to grunt and grumble and pick one of my favorites…
This photo looked pretty stinkin’ adorable in color but then for fun, I clicked the b&w button in Picasa and nearly fell out of my chair it was so gorgeous. Or maybe I’m just a biased momma, but either way it was the clear winner (with more than a few close runner ups that I’ll show ya later).
So if you love this picture of MM enjoying a tootsie pop after school as much as I do, head to the Pinterest Voting Page and vote for me (here’s a link to my photo). And if you enter her contest, I’ll totally vote for you, too. (Yes, you’ll need a pinterest account to vote – don’t have one but wanna join the fun? Let me know and I’ll send you an invite so you can become addicted to pinterest, too!)
More entries this week to come, I’m sure.
Oooh you should have told me about this!..I guess you are. Im so maybe going to fire up my pinterest account now. Yes so voting for you too!
