Obsessing over: all the little things to be taken care of between now and Christmas. I need to wrap ALL of the kids’ presents, get the stockings hung, bake some more cookies (which seems absurd, but I still need to make the cookies that I’m actually most excited about this year) and we are getting the carpets cleaned on Wednesday which means some heavy furniture moving in my future.

Feeling: warm, then cold, then hot, then warm, then cold. Mostly because the weather cannot seem to make up it’s mind and also I’m having a hard time dressing in appropriate layers so that I’ll be warm enough to venture outdoors but not sweating indoors.
Working on: cleaning the house and trying to keep on top of all the day to day chores while getting everything else done also. I’ve also been beading some new pretties lately.
Thinking about: chore charts and allowances for MM. I’m thinking he might be ready for it but still deliberating how I want to go about it, how much allowance I’d give him and how often etc. Maybe he’s still too young? I don’t know.
Reading: Certain Girls by Jennifer Weiner, the sequel to Good in Bed, one of my favorite chic lit books from back when. This book takes place 13 years after the birth of her daughter Joy, as they are preparing for her bat mitzvah and deals with all the trials and tribulations of the teenage years plus a little added drama for good measure.
Anticipating: my parents coming to visit this weekend! They are going to celebrate Christmas with us and I am so excited not only to see them but to show them the new house and spend the holidays with them. We didn’t get to go visit this summer or fall and I’m anxious to see them. The kids are also really excited, well at least MM is. BB probably doesn’t actually understand any of it yet, but I know she’ll be thrilled when they get here.
Listening to: BB watch Mickey Mouse in the next room at the moment, which I think is the same answer I’ve given to this question every week. Maybe someday I’ll be able to mix things up and give you a different answer.
Drinking: water! Isn’t that all healthy and admirable of me? I did have some Harney & sons Indian Spice tea at the mall this morning during my Monday walk with my meetup group.
Wishing: that my kitchen could cook dinner without my involvement. I have been kind of anti-cooking lately at least where dinner is concerned but I’m still very pro eating dinner. No good answer with this one. :O)

- Make your own taco seasoning!
- And lastly, DIY birds nest necklaces - I really want to make these!
Before I go, can we talk about: how grown up little BB is getting? She has been astounding me lately with how smart and clever she is. She has started to memorize the alphabet lately and is trying to catch up to big brother in the reading department already.
