Obsessing over: Instagram. Ever since discovering this phone smartphone app, I’ve been picking up my big beautiful Nikon less and less and working on perfecting my cell phone snapshots more and more. We’ll see how long the love affair lasts.
Feeling: proud of myself for a lot of smart choices this weekend in spite of some pretty strong urges to throw in the WW towel. We went to Cheeseburger in Paradise on Saturday night for dinner – a new experience for us – and were so impressed. We had a great time and really enjoyed our food. I had a huge bowl of salad with grilled chicken and fresh fruit (and no dressing because it honestly didn’t need it with all that fruit) and shared one of my hubby’s fish tacos. Delicious. For dessert we shared a slice of key lime pie that was just heavenly. I’d been saving up my points just for that meal and thanks to some smart choices I managed to stay on point.
Working on: thinking up some fun new exercises as I seem to be in a workout rut of just walking, walking, walking and wanting to try something new. I bought a copy of that EA Active for the Wii that I’m planning to try out soon.
Thinking about: what a nice Mothers Day I had! Dan and the kids surprised me with a low key breakfast in bed, some super fun, super geeky Mother’s Day presents and then we went to see Pirates: Band of Misfits (really cute) and did a little shopping in town. That night we grilled brats and had another nice salad. Perfect
a solar system necklace beading kit (fun!), a Mockingjay pin which is now living quite happily on my purse and a little bookshelf / dollhouse style shelf for my nightstand hand built and stained by my handsome hubby (inspired by this). Also not yet pictured was a bird feeder built by MM at the kids workshop that attaches to your window with suction cups.
Reading: Matched by Allie Condie for book club next week. I’m about 1/3 through the book and really enjoying it so far, as I was expecting after some rave reviews around the interblags. For those who haven’t heard of it before, it’s a YA dystopian book about a futuristic society that uses DNA to determine each person’s best match and otherwise plans, runs and analyzes just about every aspect of a person’s life to ensure that they live the “best life possible” – it centers around the main character Cassia who is turning 17 and going to her Match Ceremony to find out who her future spouse will be. But complications ensue…
Anticipating: a fun couple of weeks ahead – playdates, BB’s Y class, craft night, book club, a birthday party for one of MM and BB’s friends, house painting and gorgeous weather. Good times ahead!
Listening to: the hum of the washing machine, disney junior playing in the next room, BB playing with her toys while watching tv, the wind blowing outside…
Drinking: my first glass of water of the day.
Wishing: the laundry would finish itself. Also, the dishes. I’ve been ignoring some dishes. Just the large heavy stuff mostly, but still… That needs to get done.
