It’s hard to believe it’s already October and that the autumn season is in full swing now. There are signs all around me in fallen leaves, a slight chill in the air and warm layers being pulled out of the closet. But I’m still always surprised when another month has officially gone by.

Before I plow ahead into October, let’s take a quick moment to look at some of my favorite pictures from September. I had a really hard time narrowing it down to just 10 – I decided to just show you pictures of the kids and skip the nature pics since I just inundated you with those in my last post.

My little man on his first day of first grade. Very different from the first day of kindergarten, there were much less nerves on my part and a whole lot of excitement and eager confidence on his. First grade is cool.

Now it’s just the two of us again during the mornings and I cannot believe how much she’s grown since this time last year – she’s like a whole new kid with all her own ideas and schemes about how our days should go! She’s keeping me on my toes, that one!

We didn’t do a lot of bike riding this summer, but he did manage to take his bike around the corner to his best friend’s house a few times – thank goodness for training wheels, he’s got a long way to go, clearly his mother’s son when it comes to athletic graces.

The little Princess, she pretty much wears this tiara everywhere we go these days and sometimes will only answer to “Princess” or respond to a request with, “But I’m a princess mommy!” I’ve tried to insist that princesses always pick up their toys, eat vegetables (with their mouths closed) and take their naps but she’s still not buying it.

Sunglasses are cool.

This girl? She has athletic graces to spare. I’m not sure where she got it, but she is one coordinated daredevil diva!

My obsession with striped shirts has spread down to both children now. I can’t help it, I’m addicted to good taste!

Can you even deal with how old she looks in this picture? Like she might be getting her driver’s license tomorrow at this rate? Hold me.

It’s hard to take pictures of flowers when your three year old plucks them out of the ground while you are clicking.

As we walk off into the sunset of another month, let’s take a moment to reminisce about where we’ve been and where we are.
