I don’t think I truly realized how crazy busy we’ve been this month until I flipped through all our pictures from September to compile a Top Photos post. Do you remember those crazy days when I could choose ten pictures to share with you guys each month that totally captured the month? Yeah, those days are gone. I am loving my new collage format for the Top Photos so that I can really show you all my favorites in one post without overwhelming you guys!
September was a fun month that included back to school photos, apple picking, karate classes, visiting daddy’s office, lots of nature pictures, a costume birthday party and a little modern art for good measure. Also, not pictured but never forgotten – we spent a good chunk of this month installing new flooring.
These are some of my favorite “family pictures” – mostly pictures of my kids being adorable in front of various photo ops. Lots of silly faces and personality to spare.
I got a lot of great MM pictures this month. First day of school pictures yielded some serious adorableness. He got to give his Halloween costume a test run at a costume birthday party. I’m thinking you guys can guess what he’s going to be pretty easily. Something about wibbly wobbly timey wimey… yeah. I also got some cute pictures after his first karate class, while apple picking and also some pictures from visiting daddy’s office and painting some modern art. MM is finally at a phase where he actually poses for pictures instead of blatantly ignoring me. Thank god I can rely on one of my kids for this!
Meanwhile, most of my pictures of BB involve her dancing, twirling, jumping and totally ignoring me. I have to move around her a lot and click the shutter button like crazy while crossing my fingers and hoping for the best. I’m getting pretty good at this so I got loads of cute pictures of her this month between back to school pictures, her princess dress costume, karate, etc. It helps that she’s a natural model whether she wants to be helpful or not.
And I couldn’t resist sharing some of my favorite nature photos from this month. The large majority of my flower pictures this month were taken with my cell phone which just blows my mind how far technology has come that I can say that! I have been having a lot of fun playing with the camera on my new phone. I also took a macro photography class last month so I included some pictures I took for class as well, using my “real” camera – and a few landscapey shots from visiting Dan’s office and that gorgeous, if a bit grainy, sunset. It was a beautiful month for nature photography.
I’m sure October will be much more autumn leaves and oranges and yellows and browns so I’m enjoying the pops of summer color while I can!
