The Fall 15: My Must Watch List for Fall TV.

fall tv lineup

We’re still mostly binge watching old shows on Netflix right now but the fall premier dates are quickly approaching for both the old favorites we’ve been missing and new shows hoping to gain our loyal viewership. What shows are you missing the most right now? What new shows are you excited to tune into? I’m linking up with Mama Kat this week to share my Must Watch List.

Here’s my list of 15 shows, both old and new, that I’m most excited about.

Sunday

Utopia – Dubbed an “experimental reality series based on a Dutch format”; 15 contestants have been thrown into the wilderness to spend one year building their own society with their own rules. I’m interested to see what ideas they have for their perfect societies and hoping that it doesn’t just turn into sensationalized idiocy.
Once Upon a TimeI stopped watching last season feeling kind of like the show had jumped the shark but then I saw the previews for this season and yes, the promise of Frozen has lured me back in. I’ve started catching up on Season 3 and I’m already suspecting I may have given in too soon. I’m glad they’ve lured me back in – for now.
Brooklyn 99  This was one of our favorite new shows last season and I’m really interested to see where the next season takes us.

Monday

Big Bang Theory – Probably our favorite show right now, along with everyone else in the world. Who doesn’t want to know what happened to Sheldon on his epic train ride?
Gotham – I’m such a huge Batman nerd and I’m really intrigued by the premise of this prequel-style tv show.
The Flash – Everyone seems super excited about this new spin-off of Arrow. We’re suckers for super heroes around here so I’ll definitely have to give this one a spin.

Tuesday

Mindy Project – I’m still loving the Mindy Project and I’m looking forward to another season of waiting for Mindy and Danny to get their shit together.
Agents of Shield – I almost lost interest in this one but it pulled me back in just as the season was ending. Very interested to see where the next season brings everyone.
Selfie – The early reviews of this show have not been great but Amelia Pond – I mean Karen Gillan – is enough to make me want to watch at least the Pilot. Plus it’s supposed to be a modern spin on Pygmalion so yeah, I’m definitely intrigued.

Wednesday

Mysteries of Laura – I love Debra Messing and from the previews I’ve seen, her character in this show looks awesome. We love funny cop shows with brilliant casting so I’m hopeful for this one.
The Middle – I’ve missed the heck out of the Heck Family this summer (see what I did there)? I’m always excited for a new episode of this show and I’d really love to go back to the beginning and start watching the show with my son. Can Netflix or Amazon Prime please make this happen for me?
Modern Family – Another of our tried and trues – we love this show and I’m particularly interested to see what’s ahead for Haley’s character this season.

Thursday

A to Z – Cristin Milioti was absolutely robbed on How I Met Your Mother, which never really got a chance to do her justice. I’m looking forward to getting to know the actress better on this show. Hopefully she and Ben Feldman can make some great television together.
Scandal – I’m halfway through season 2 right now as my husband and I binge watch to catch up before the fall season starts. Will we make it in time? Not sure, but I’ll be DVRing just in case!
How to Get Away with Murder – Another Shonda Rhimes show that has a lot of promise – this one takes place in law school and promises “Scandal-sized twists and Grey’s-like drama” – who could ask for more, really?

I have to cheat a bit and include My Saturday Night Absolute Must Watch: Doctor Who. My fall lineup wouldn’t be complete without my favorite Time Lord who has a new face this season but all the same swagger we’ve come to know and love. I’m loving this season so far – it has been incredibly quotable and incredibly Who-ish in all the right ways – and I’m officially a fan of Capaldi in a big way. Why isn’t this show in the list? Because I forgot to add a column in my graphic and didn’t feel like remaking it. Yup – sheer laziness. But don’t let that discourage you from watching.

What fall shows are you most excited about?

My daughter (age 23) loves once upon a time. I’ve never watched it but perhaps by bingewatching I can get caught up. Honestly, I haven’t heard of many of these shows as I rarely watch tv. Thanks for sharing though.

OOh I’m intrigued by Selfie…why wouldn’t I, it’s Amy Pond. Is this a BBCA show? I hadn’t heard of it. Also the boys are probably going to be into Gotham and Flash for sure as well as Agents of Shield. Of course I am on pins and needles waiting for BBT! Which now brings me to DW. I feel hopeful hearing that your loving the new doctor. I’ve been in complete unsure denial at this point. I will hang in there though and surely love this new doctor too.

Selfie is not a BBC show but I can’t remember which network it’s on. I’ve only heard about it because of the internet.

I’m not much of a TV watcher but I have been hearing a lot about The Middle and also Dr. Who. Maybe I should give them a try.

It’s been fun to read everyone’s line up – but I’m feeling out of it. I don’t watch any of these shows! I’m on a Netflix binge, too! LOVE House of Cards and Orange is the New Black.
