Top 10 Tuesday: Most Read Authors

toptentuesday

I’m linking up with The Broke and the Bookish for this week’s Top Ten Tuesday. The Prompt, should you choose to accept it:

“top ten authors we’ve read the most books from”.

Basically, whose books do you binge read?

Or: If this person published a book tomorrow, would you be seriously tempted to buy it immediately, no questions asked? These are the authors who would make that list for me.

  1. fangirlRainbow Rowell (3 so far) Yeah, I know this math is real. So why am I bothering to mention an author when I’ve only read 3 books by them. Because she’s only written 4 (at least she’s only published 4). I’ve read 75% of her published work and this feels like reason enough for why it should merit a place on the list. Check back with me in ten years and let’s see if she still has real estate on this list.
  2. Jen Lancaster (3) According to goodreads.com, I have read 3 of her books. This seems absurd to me because I own a lot more than 3 of her books, but apparently I’m better at buying them than finishing them. Hmmm… Project for 2015: Catch up on Jen Lancaster for reals.
  3. Jasper Fforde (6) His Thursday Next series completes me (and trying to describe the series is like being asked to write a long equation that you learned in junior high twelve years ago).
  4. Jennifer Weiner (6) She was my original Jen Lancaster. If Jen Weiner wrote a book, I knew I wanted to read it. Again, I probably own more of her books than I’ve read but this is not a bad thing. It means I have more great books by her to read.
  5. book one of the Lunar ChroniclesMarissa Meyer (6) In other news, I’m obsessed with the Lunar Chronicles. Another author that is actually relatively new to me, but a fast favorite.
  6. L.M. Montgomery (at least 6) I’ve honestly lost count on how many of her books I’ve read, but goodreads.com has 6 that I’ve remembered to record so we’ll go with 6. But it might as well be eleventy million for the love she gets from me. I just bought my daughter a gorgeous copy of Anne of Green Gables at the bookstore today because I’m super excited to start sharing the Anne Shirley love.
  7. Stephenie Meyer (7) I loved both the Twilight series and the Host (we’ll ignore the movies) and continue to be a devoted fan of her writing.
  8. Lisa Lutz (7) I’m more than a little obsessed with the Spellman Files series and tend to get foot stampy about certain plot lines and the lack of Spellman currently in my reading life. Also really liked Heads You Lose (soon to be a motion picture) and I’m looking forward to How to Start a Fire.
  9. Janet Evanovich (23) I was a little shocked at this number even though logic definitely testifies to the truth here. I have read nearly all of the Stephanie Plum books though I am definitely pretty far behind, as well as a lot of her other cheesy chick lit romances. She might be a somewhat formulaic writer, but Janet Evanovich has a great formula. The only writer who has managed to take up more of my time is…
  10. 51sjXWAyPiL._SX342_BO1,204,203,200_Ann M. Martin (possibly 100+) My father is shaking his head right now. Like every other female child born in the 80’s, I spent most of my tween years hopelessly devoted to Ann M. Martin’s Babysitter’s Club series. I’ve read them all. All the super specials, all the mysteries, all of Kristy’s super boring bossy antics and all of Claudia’s fantastic outfits and horrific spelling mistakes. All of the Mary Anne and Logan drama. Ann M. Martin taught me what diabetes was and taught my father how to go broke keeping up with his daughter’s bookworm tendencies.

So how about you? Who are your most read authors?

I love your list. But what’s Marissa Meyer’s 6th book? Have you read Winter already?!?! 🙂

Actually, what’s her 5th book even? Am I counting right? Cinder, Scarlet, Cress, and Fairest. What am I missing? 🙂
