I snagged this fun book tag from Steph @ Lost: Purple Quill. Basically, we’re going to be pitting characters from different novels against each other in various ways.

HOW IT WORKS:

1. You write down the names of 30 fictional characters on pieces of paper.
2. You pick two names at a time and answer each of the 15 questions. For each question one of the two characters will be the one you believe fits best and the other is “not good enough”.

1 – YOU ONLY HAVE ONE MORE SPOT ON YOUR SPELLING BEE TEAM, WHO WOULD YOU PICK TO COMPLETE YOUR TEAM?

Rhett Butler (Gone With the Wind) vs. Sherlock Holmes (Sherlock Holmes)

I’m sure Rhett Butler is super smart but Sherlock Holmes is literally Sherlock Holmes – his eidetic memory would be too useful to pass up. That is if he’s even willing to play along.

2 – BOTH CHARACTERS WANT TO KILL YOU, WHICH ONE WOULD YOU KILL FIRST SO THAT YOU HAVE A BETTER CHANCE OF SURVIVING?

Harry Potter (Harry Potter) vs. Queen Levana (The Lunar Chronicles series)

I think I had better kill Levana. I have a much better chance of convincing Harry that he doesn’t want to kill me and also I’d rather kill a grown woman than a kid. Better get working on my Petronus if I survive though.

3 – YOU’RE ON THE BACHELOR/BACHELORETTE AND YOU’RE DOWN TO THESE TWO CHARACTERS, WHICH ONE ARE YOU GOING TO GIVE YOUR ROSE TO?

Elizabeth Bennet (Pride and Prejudice) vs. Katniss Everdeen (The Hunger Games)

Well we’re going to have to assume I’m suddenly batting for the other team, first off. Second off, these are both pretty feisty women – I cannot imagine either of them coming on this show willingly. I think I’d go with Lizzie because Katniss is pretty emotionally hollow by the end of her book series and I’m guessing that being on another competition reality show is probably just making her crazier.

4 – YOU’VE BEEN CHOSEN FOR THE HUNGER GAMES, WHO WOULD MOST LIKELY VOLUNTEER IN YOUR PLACE?

Cress Darnel (The Lunar Chronciles) vs. Charles Bingley (Pride and Prejudice)

I kind of think they would both volunteer simulataneously. Bingley would volunteer out of a sense of gentlemanly honor. Cress is so compassionate that she wouldn’t be able to sit idly by while it happened – then again she is also pretty shy so she might just think really hard about it but then say nothing and figure out a way to destroy the Games from inside in a hacking capacity instead and save everyone.

5 – YOU’RE STRANDED ON AN ISLAND, WHICH CHARACTER WOULD YOU SACRIFICE TO ENGAGE IN CANNIBALISM?

Linh Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles) vs. Fitzwilliam Darcy (Pride and Prejudice)

What the actual shit guys? First off Linh Cinder is way more likely to be the one who surivives this whole ordeal and frankly should probably be the winner of question four. And Mr. Darcy needs to go replace both of the people in the Bachelor question instead of this one and also I would never. I’m pretty sure in this scenario that I’d be the weakest link. Show me some compassion Cinder!

6 – YOU’RE THE NEXT DC/MARVEL SUPERHERO (WITH YOUR OWN TV SHOW, OF COURSE), WHO IS YOUR SIDEKICK?

Ron Weasley (Harry Potter) vs. Carswell Thorne (The Lunar Chronicles)

Oh I am absolutely 100% picking Carswell Thorne, no contest. He even comes with transportation.

7 – YOU’RE A MANAGER OF AN AVOCADO ADMIRING COMPANY, WHO WOULD YOU FIRE FOR LACK OF COMMUNICATION SKILLS?

Peeta Mellark (The Hunger Games) vs. George Wickham (Pride and Prejudice)

First, I have no idea what an avocado admiring company is but I’m assuming that everything is Wickham’s fault, probably including the company direction. Like, do we all just go to the grocery store and admire the avocados? Do we whisper sweet nothings to them and write bad poetry?

8 – YOU’VE JUST FINISHED A BOOK IN WHICH YOUR FAVOURITE CHARACTER DIES, WHICH CHARACTER IS MOST LIKELY TO COMFORT YOU?

John Watson (Sherlock Holmes) vs. Scarlett O’Hara (Gone With the Wind)

Of the two I’d say that Watson will be the most sympathetic. Scarlett will give absolutely zero forks about the situation unless the character was important to her, too. In which case she will just tell me why her grief is more important than mine and then something about never going hungry again.

9 – UGH, IT’S HIGH SCHOOL, WHO WOULD MOST LIKELY BE PART OF THE POPULAR CLIQUE?

Kristy (The Babysitter’s Club) vs. Jane Bennet (Pride and Prejudice)

Sorry Kristy, but Jane definitely has you beat on this one. There are literally no people in the universe who dislike Jane Bennet and pretty much nobody likes Kristy except her fellow club members I guess.

10 – THE DAY HAS ARRIVED; YOU’RE FINALLY A YEAR OLDER! WHO WOULD HAVE THE NERVE TO FORGET YOUR BIRTHDAY?

Hermione Granger (Harry Potter) vs. Scarlet Benoit (The Lunar Chronicles)

I feel like Hermione would have the date circled in her planner with notes about remembering a gift and planning a party in between acing all of her classes and saving the world. Scarlet, on the other hand, could possibly get distracted with Wolfe. No judgement.

11 – YOU’VE JUST FOUND AN UP AND COMING BOOKTUBE STAR, WHO WOULD IT MOST LIKELY BE?

Mary Ann (The Babysitters Club) vs. Lydia Bennet (Pride and Prejudice)

Hands down it would be Lydia – she’s much more attention seeking than Mary Ann. Ignoring the fact that Mary Ann probably reads more books than Lydia, she isn’t much of a limelight seeker. Heck Lydia already has a youtube channel.

12 – SLEEPOVER TIME! UNFORTUNATELY YOU CAN ONLY INVITE ONE PERSON, WHO WOULD YOU INVITE?

Luna Lovegood (Harry Potter) vs. Anne Shirley (Anne of Green Gables)

I’m a little bit sad at the universe that I can’t invite them both because how fun would that be? But I think I’d have to go with Anne because kindred spirits and all. And you know she’d be fun at a sleepover.

13 – BAM, YOU’RE PREGNANT. WHO’S THE FATHER/MOTHER?

Lara Jean (To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before) vs. Neville Longbottom (Harry Potter)

Well based on scientific reasoning, I’m going to go with Neville. Can it be this Neville?

14 – YOU’VE JUST WRITTEN A SUPER IMPORTANT TEXT. WHO WOULD ‘SEE’ IT, BUT NOT REPLY?

Gilbert Blythe (Anne of Green Gables) vs. Claudia (The Babysitters Club)

I mean maybe Claudia is in the middle of painting something and she’s got like paint on her hands so she’s busy but she’ll reply later. Gilbert would only get a pass because I’m not in fact, Anne Shirley. Based on that logic, I’ll go with him.

15 – YOU’VE JUST WOKEN UP AND IT’S TIME FOR BREAKFAST. YOUR MUM’S BEEN REPLACED BY WHOM?!

Iko (The Lunar Chronicles) vs. Stacey (The Babysitters Club)

The idea of Iko replacing someone’s mom is too funny not to imagine. Like I’d read that story.
