I’m getting a little rusty at this whole blogging thing so I thought I’d go back to basics – remember the Daybook meme? I used to love writing and reading these. Let’s kick it old school and I’ll fill you in on my past week like it hasn’t been months.
Outside My Window: It is brisk outside! It’s not quite cold enough for me to admit defeat and wear my winter coat but it is cold enough that I probably should be. I’ve been shivering from car to building all day.
I Am Hearing: random hits from the 80s and 90s. I’m killing half an hour at a coffee shop before picking up the kids and the playlist here is very nostalgia. Shut up, I’m not old.
I am Thinking: about literally everyone and nothing. My brain is still recovering from the holidays and I am all over the place. Things to clean, meals to plan, upcoming events, travel plans coming up, etc.
I am Reading: I Love You So Mochi by Sarah Kuhn. It’s a YA story about a girl who runs off to Japan to visit her grandparents for Spring Break after having a big fight with her mother. I’m loving the descriptions of Japan and the little love story developing but the main character is frustratingly dense and I don’t entirely understand why she and her mom are arguing about what they are arguing about, but… Aside from that I am enjoying it.
Week Recap: Half of this week was holiday fun with family. Lots of Mario Kart and Doctor Who. We managed to play three very long and intense board games three days in a row: Monopoly, Risk and Titanic the board game. Honestly it’s no wonder my brain is barely functional. The kids went back to school yesterday so we’re already getting back into the thick of it with homework and projects.
I’m looking forward to: a White Elephant party with friends tomorrow night, coffee with my favorite expat and D&D on Sunday!
