I Think I Have Book ADD

After sifting through different posts in the What’s on Your Nightstand blog carnival hosted by 5 Minutes for Books, I decided I was less than content with my current “reading” list so I packed up MM and headed to the library, where we picked up Lost in a Good Book by Jasper Fforde and of  course Pride and Prejudice so I can get started on the Classics Bookclub pick for August asap. I wanted to get Rumors by Anna Godbersen but alas, it’s still not in, so I put in a request for it and went about my day.

I’m not sure if Lost in a Good Book will replace Alanna: The First Adventure or if I’ll attempt to read them simultaneously – but I will definitely be finishing Alanna at some point, because I was enjoying it, I just got tired of being jealous because everyone else was still reading the Jasper Fforde series except me, despite the fact that I LOVED the first book – what’s that about? And then the library had this great collection of like 5 or 6 of his books which I’d somehow never noticed before and even just the other day had commented about how hard to find his books were – a lie, apparently, so, in short, I won’t have to starve for his books anymore. ::happy dance::

I read The Eyre Affair, his first Thursday Next book, a while ago and absolutely adored it – all the literary references and such were irrestistable, and the heroine of the novel is oh so relateable in her own way, a lot of like Isabel Spellman in my personal opinion, which is a huge praise coming from me. So then I almost picked up Thursday Next: A First Among Sequels, thinking for obvious reasons that it was book 2 but it’s actually like book 5 apparently – what’s that all about? Way to be confusing, I say. But luckily I noticed the problem quickly, and swapped books before it was my turn in line – phew.

Now MM is napping and I’m trying to decide – do I continue blogging, as I do have more posts to get around to; do I go get reading as the new books are sitting all pretty, calling out to my like calling out-like books… or do I work on my own novel, which I only just recently began coming up with fresh, new exciting ideas for, but haven’t actually put any of it into writing yet – actual, novel writing, as opposed to brainstorming and outlining which I’ve done plenty of and then some… Time shall tell, it always does.

I’m afraid I have book ADD as well. It has gotten to the point that I have to be reading three books at once or I won’t finish any of them.
