My nightstand and I have been having some disagreements. It keeps getting taller every day as new books to review / revel in seem to be added constantly. And of course with new baby and all, my reading is practically at a stand still… anyway, here’s what I read this month…
- Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris – Finished August 5, 2009 – I made the possible mistake of reading this book after having watched Season One of True Blood on HBO. So for the first half of the book, I couldn’t help but compare the two and for awhile, I preferred the tv show, but either the writing got better halfway through, or I just finally got into it. Either way, I ended up really liking it. The book and tv show have a lot of major differences, although some major things like “Whodunnit” are the same. This is probably what made it really hard to enjoy initially – knowing who the killer was. Oh well. I did end up liking it and at some point I plan to read book 2. – Full Review –
I’m currently reading…
- 10-10-10: A Life-Transforming Idea by Suzy Welch
And the books I’m hoping to get to soon…
- The Baby Fat Diet by Monica Bearden (which I’m reviewing for Mommas Review)
- The Inner Peace Diet by Aileen McCabe Maucher (also a review book)
- Robin Hood by Howard Pyle (used bookstore buy)
- My Antonia by Willa Cather (another used bookstore buy)
- Julie and Julia by Julie Powell (which I won at 3 Boys & A Dog)
- And you know, a million more…

I have read all of the Sookie books. I really like them. I am opposite of you though, I have yet to watch the True Blood series and am not sure I want to. Afraid, the series will ruin my books… **shrug**

We watched the first season of True Blood but missed the last 2 episodes. Actually they’re still on my laptop but we just never watched them. We have HBO again so have been watching it. I am curious about the books as I’ve heard there are differences, enough to keep you interested in both. Sort of like Bones the show is a very different character from the Bones of the books, who is not at all clueless about pop culture.

I think you are doing pretty well, considering you only recently had a baby.

Your doing much better than I am where my reading pile equals zero and my to read pile equals way to many. I’m hoping tomorrow to get a library card in OK for the boys and I. It’s just not the same as the awesome library we had in Tx. Sniff. Lovin your new template too!
