If you’re just tuning in, last week my husband went out of town and I emailed him a lot. This is the email I sent him last Tuesday:

SUBJECT: ANOTHER DAY OF MISSING YOU

We mostly talked about crazy house buying things and flooding the bathroom things – I thought I’d tell you more about the better parts of our day. 🙂

We took a short walk this morning. I’d originally thought, “Let’s walk to the playground on [that street we both know]!” but it was so hot that we didn’t even make it to [that other street we know that’s nowhere near the first street] before I changed my mind and we headed home. I let the kids play a little bit in the shady area outside the building. [MM] ran into some friends and they played for a few minutes and [BB] enjoyed perusing the Hanna Andersson catalog that came in the mail yesterday.

[MM] continued coloring today and was very proud of his work and wanted me to show it to you. [BB] thought this was fascinating and wanted to show you, too.

They also had a lot of fun making “ah wah wah” sounds. [BB] thought it was awesome when [MM] did the hand on her mouth thing.

We had those french bread pizzas from Aldi for dinner – and I have to say they were surprisingly delicious. We can definitely get them again sometime.

[MM] told me that he “really likes getting messy” while he was eating. Clearly [BB] does, too.

We missed you today but we do seem to be managing okay. We’re supposed to go to [awesome friend’s] tomorrow for our play date / watching Dinosaur Train for review. Hopefully [BB’s] nap schedule works out okay and we don’t have to suffer any consequences. The kids slept in super late this morning which was awesome because she skipped her morning nap altogether and seemed fine about it but I’m not holding my breath that that will happen again. We’ll see.
