Last week my husband went out of town for a whole week ::sobs in hanky:: To keep him in the loop on all of the crazy, fascinating things we did while he was gone, I sent him nightly emails chronicling our days. This was my final email from last Friday, about an hour before he was due to arrive home.
TO: HUBBY
FROM: WIFELY
SUBJECT: ONE LAST DAY WITHOUT YOU
We spent most of today bumming around the house, counting down the hours and minutes until you come home (just about one more hour now!). There were cuddles and tears, like every other day.
The kids have had so much fun taking pictures this week that they seemed to be constantly hamming it up for the camera, [MM] asking, “Can we take a picture for daddy?”
They’ve also been very clingy today. Making meals was difficult because [BB] cried constantly when I tried to put her down. I was able to keep them both mostly amused with rolling pins and measuring cups while I cooked.
While the kids napped I cleaned and baked brownies – a special treat for all of us to enjoy tomorrow when you are finally home with us again!
It’s been a long week of missing you. I’m so glad to know that by the time you read this, you’ll likely already be home with me again and I can go back to being a mostly sane mommy!
See you soon!
Love,
Wifely
