alternately titled: suppose I were to drastically change this blog
Back in the dawn of dot.com, when the Internet was basically still a newborn babe in 80′s hot pink and neon green swaddling cloths, my dad bought me my very own domain: jennyonline.com. And like a typical teenage girl, I mostly ignored it. It didn’t feel like me – or I wanted to carve out my own existence or something… I don’t know. But with all of my ongoing layout changes (you’ve probably noticed that I am basically never content with it anymore) and overall feelings of discontent, I’ve been feeling the need for… a change. An overhaul. Something.
So when my dad converted my old dot.com to a wordpress blog that is conveniently not wordpress hosted and he not so subtly handed the logins over to me and said, “You know, whatev,” I felt compelled to at least import this blog’s content to it and play around with the self hosted layout options. I have to admit, it’s pretty cool. And the name? It doesn’t really suck.
It’s all a tremendous work in progress and being the fickle pickle I am, who knows? I may decide not to bother and just stay where I am, because honestly? It’s easier. But… I’m very very tempted to make the change.
What do you think? Should I stay or should I go?
– edit –
After talking to my dad and thinking it all over, I think my current plan is to keep my domain name as is- meaning mommablogsalot.com stays the same – BUT switch to self hosted under his current hosting service, the same place jennyonline.com is hosted. I’m going to spend a few more days or weeks playing with jennyonline.com to make sure I am happy with the site speed, etc. Feel free to check it out yourself and let me know if it loads okay for you – any help is appreciated.

Too funny! And, it loaded very quickly for me:) I did a move from wp.com to .org for a friend and it was quite seamless.
