The cooling temperatures and falling leaves make it clear that autumn has arrived. Each season lately I’ve been creating a list of goals to accomplish – not like “save x amount of dollars” or “work out every day” kind of goals, but more specific seasonal activities that I’d like to see happen before the weather turns again. It’s so easy to let time get away from us and some of those classic seasonal things can fall by the wayside if we let them.
In an effort to ensure a memorable fall that is chock full of savoring each moment, here are 10 goals for autumn fun this year in no particular order. Feel free to play along on your own blog!
- Decorate a pumpkin or two and possibly visit a pumpkin patch with the kids.
- Bake at least one pie from scratch and maybe have MM help this year.
- Jump in a big pile of leaves!
- Go apple picking with the kids.
- Make homemade apple sauce.
- Do an artsy crafty project with pine cones, yellow leaves or something similar.
- Read a great book while sipping apple cider, hot cocoa or egg nog.
- Take the kids trick or treating (I don’t see how this one could not happen but it seemed like it should be on the list).
- Take the kids on a nature hunt and see what signs of the season we can find.
- Go for a hayride! I’m sure I can find some farm doing one this year.
What are your plans for this season? Anything you think is missing on my list?

Hayride sounds fabulous. I may need to pinch your list.
