October is officially here and that means it’s time to post my Top 5 Pictures from the last month in my 365 Project. I think I got some pretty good pictures this month, of a variety of subjects which is always nice. Sometimes I fall into a rut and it’s just shot after shot of the kids (not that that’s a bad thing) so it’s nice to have some pictures of nature, food, etc. in the mix, too.
I’m planning to do a Top 10 or 12 Pictures of 2010 at the end of the year and these Top 5 posts are going to make that a lot easier! And I’m hoping to make a photo book out of the project as well. Anyway, here are my 5 favorite pictures from September:
This picture of my son running the bases at his first t-ball practice actually got no comments at the 365 website but it’s still one of my favorites. I love that the action behind the fence is a little bit blurred but still perfectly captured (in my humble opinion) and I think it kind of catches that feeling of being on the outside looking in.
Clearly t-ball had a positive effect on my photography this month – this is another favorite. I love how old fashioned / timeless little BB looks in her cute little romper and the coloring of the shot I think captured that perfectly.
One of my favorite little “tricks” lately is to set the camera in the grass and get a shot of whatever picture I’m after looking up from the grass. Some of my favorite BB shots are captured this way. In this picture I was getting shots of the fallen leaves and most of them were “meh” until I tried this method.
On a nature walk, trying to unwind from a long day of whining children, I took my time, lingering over anything I found pretty to take a picture. It was a long walk, needless to say, but I got some great pictures – this was my favorite from the walk and one of my favorites from the month (maybe even year) overall.
After a not very enjoyable day of apple picking, this homemade apple pie made by yours truly made the whole day worth it. Delicious down to the last bite – and I loved how this picture came out!
Here are my top 5 pictures from January, February, March, April, May, June, July and August.
