A couple days ago that cute son of mine suggested we take a walk to the park. It was getting close to lunch, but rather than say no I decided to make some sandwiches to go and make it a picnic!

I love when the timing is right, the weather is behaving and I take the time to have fun and relax with the kids. They loved it, too!
After a quick lunch it was time to play…

MM made a bee line for the swings. He’s still a bit short for these swings so he went straight to belly swinging.

BB was quick to run and join him. Even belly swinging, she needed a bit of help getting up there, but loved every minute of mommy “helping” her swing higher and higher.

All that playground equipment and I think they spent most of their time playing with rocks and sticks. Typical.

And of course when MM decided to go climb and slide, BB was again right behind him…

It is scary how big she is getting and how coordinated she is at such a young age! She barely needed my help climbing up this thing – heck maybe she didn’t need my help at all!
A nice afternoon all in all – a day of embracing the moments. I wish they were all more like that!
One response to “A Picnic at the Park!”
Great job making the most of the moment! Picnic at the park is definitely going to make our 2011 summer list!
