Summer Bucket Lists are a pretty trendy thing, but after seeing this one at Whatever I got inspired to do one with the kids. I don’t know if we’ll actually do all of this stuff but I thought it would encourage us to do more than we would otherwise and help us make the most of this summer, MM’s very last summer before starting school in the fall. It’s the end of an era guys!
Anyway, here’s a rundown of the list as I realize it’s probably a tad hard to read:
[] Lemonade stand [] Ride in a boat (MM’s suggestion) [] Fishing [] Go to beach! [] Camping [] Play in back yard [] Watch fireworks [] Sprinkler [] Zoo [] Make ice cream [] Fly a kite [] Blow bubbles [] cookouts [] Rocky Roccocco’s (local pizza place that has a free movie theater!) [] Movie night [] Catch Fireflies (ignore my bad spelling) [] Ride Bikes! [] Go to splashpad (like a playground with sprinklers) [] Dane County Fair [] Family Walks [] S’MORES [] Wash the Cars [] Jump in puddles! [] Michael’s Custard [] Park [] Ice Cream Truck [] $2 Movies [] Physics Museum (yes we are nerds) [] Sno Cones [] Go to a concert [] Monona Bait & Ice Cream (sounds kinda odd, but it’s supposed to be legendary) [] Picnic Point [] Ella’s Deli (has a carousel!) [] Mustard Museum [] Story time at the library [] Summer Camp (already signed MM up for a 1 week day camp) [] Swim at the Y [] Make Cheesecake [] Donate old toys (it can’t all be fun and games) [] Take a day trip [] Dates with Daddy! (I’d love for all three of us to get some one on one time with our favorite guy) [] Go to a parade [] Read 50 books (the kids) [] Bake bread [] Do nothing. [] Crafts [] Big Girl Bed for BB! [] Make lemonade (not to sell, just to drink) [] Color [] Read Outside [] Make a Fort!
I tried to include some do good stuff, some have fun stuff, some learn stuff stuff and even just some get stuff done stuff. There are a lot of local-centric things on here so that we can continue exploring the Madison area since we’ve really only scraped the surface on all the cool stuff there is to do here. Any local moms reading this, I found a lot of our ideas here at Madison Loves Kids.
What are your plans for the summer?
