BB and my friend’s adorable daughter waiting for the trains to come around. Or for us to stop paying attention to them so they could hop the fence and really have some fun.
We went to the Olbrich Botanical Gardens on Tuesday to see the holiday model train display. We just went to the botanical gardens for the first time this September and I was immediately smitten and wanted everything to do with this place, so I was pretty excited to go even though, let’s face it, neither BB or I care even a little bit about trains.
She was far more interested in trying to climb over the railing. I was trying to take fun, artsy fartsy pictures while chasing her and keeping her from climbing over said railings. It was hard. I think we both spent a total of two minutes looking at trains. Plus two or three minutes looking at awesome artsy bird houses.
And ten minutes or so wandering their indoor gardens which feels kind of like walking into a rain forest. The task here was to combine artsy fartsy picture taking with chasing a two year old and keeping her from jumping in their indoor waterfall. I’m not joking.
Somehow I managed to get two stellar pictures in the gardens before BB let me know in no uncertain terms that we were leaving and that the gardens had become SO 5 minutes ago.
Mommy must not be much of a trend setter, because I was secretly wishing we could spend all day there. And that I’d used our stroller.

One response to “Trains, Toddlers, Flowers and Small Wooden Houses.”
I love botanical gardens. We are lucky enough to have one not too too far away. I will see if I can dig up any pics from there and post them on my blog. The pictures you took are beautiful!
