All the pain and back ache and frustration of yesterday has been shoveled aside this morning. I woke up and walked MM to the bus stop and was pleased to see only another inch or two had accumulated over night, though a helpful snow plow did give me more work to do so hubby could go to work.
Last night Dan introduced me to the SnoBoss (not pictured above) which I used this morning to clean up our driveway and I have to say, I made short work of the snow today. I quickly shoveled a straight line down the driveway, as advised by a friend last night and then made short trips in each direction until I got to the end near the street where it was MUCH heavier. I even cleaned the walkway and porch and sidewalks.
About the time I’d gotten to the end, Dan came out and I contemplated using the snow blower for our heavier bit at the end as I was pretty tired by then, though very proud. But a quick inspection found our snow blower’s tires to be flat, so I hulked up mentally and went back to the end of the driveway and apparently had found my 2nd wind and finished the job in 10 minutes or so, kissed my handsome husband goodbye and he was off to work.
By the time I got inside, I was supremely proud of myself and singing this little song in my mind, on top of the world and so glad to have gotten redemption from the night before. I have a lot more confidence in this winter now though I did decide to give myself a “snow day” and cancel my plans for the day in favor of staying home in my jammies and snuggling up with a cup of cocoa (soon).
I think I’ve earned it.

You did earn your snow day! Who wants to get out and about in the snow anyway?
