- Have you started your Christmas shopping? Don’t hate me or anything but I think I’ve finished my Christmas shopping… To be fair though we’ve kept it really small. Like I might change my mind later and hate myself for not making the call a month ago small.
- Tell me about one of your special traditions. I don’t think we do anything very unique from other people except that my birthday is Christmas Eve so most people probably don’t eat birthday cake the day before Christmas but I do.
- When do you put up your Tree? It’s different year to year but usually between the day after Thanksgiving and the 1st of December depending on how giddy I’m feeling. It went up Turkey Day weekend this year.
- Are you a Black Friday shopper? No, I often end up shopping anyway that day but I’ve decided I have no interest in getting up at 4am to buy things I don’t need.
- Do you Travel at Christmas or Stay home? We’re staying home this year but that doesn’t necessarily mean we’ll do that every year we’re just trying to lay relatively low after the big move.
- What is your funniest Christmas memory? Wow you are really putting me on the spot with these questions and nothing is coming to mind. Sorry.
- What is your favorite Christmas Movie of All time? I really like Shop Around The Corner which isn’t really a traditional “Christmas” movie but um, yeah. Also – I really really love Elf.
- Do you do your own Christmas Baking, what’s your favorite treat? I do bake around the holidays, usually cookies. My grandmother always gets all the grandkids together to bake cookies for Christmas and it’s one of my favorite things. I’ll probably bake with MM this year since we won’t be able to get together with the family.
- Fake or Real Tree? I’ve almost always had a fake tree, but when we get our own house we might try a real tree and see how we like it.
- What day (as a Mom) does the actual panic set in to get it all done? Probably about one week prior. I’ve only been a mom for three and a half years though so “what’s normal” is still relative.
- Are you still wrapping presents on Christmas Eve? Hopefully not! Nobody should have to wrap presents on their birthday – unwrapping only!
- What is your favorite family fun time at Christmas? It’s all fun! I love opening stockings on Christmas morning. Eating the Christmas orange – I’m not sure if this is a “universal” thing having an orange in your stocking on Christmas? But I’ve always had one and it’s not Christmas without one. And I don’t mean a chocolate orange either although we get those, too, sometimes.
- What Christmas craft do you like the best? making homemade ornaments
- Christmas music? We make our own CD because we like a lot of Christmas music but probably only about 8% of what’s out there and very little of what’s played on the radio.
- When do you plan to finish all your shopping? I hope I’m already done, but I’ll probably cave and buy more at some point.

Ahh, I did this today too! You put your tree up around the same time I did. The movie Elf is just too funny! Good choice. 🙂

We do oranges in our stockings too and the kids ask why Santa uses oranges and not some other fruit. Still shopping…having a hard time with teacher gifts this year.
