Top 5 YA Love Stories

I’m linking up with Bionic Bookworm for this week’s Top 5 Tuesday. This week’s theme is romantic reads. 🥰🥰🥰

I wanted to showcase some of my favorite love stories over the past few years. Mostly YA, some fantasy but mostly contemporary. These are not quite “romance novels” – more “love story” because that’s what I like.

In no particular order, here are the 5 love stories that I seem to squeal and swoon over the most:

16068905Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell | One of my all-time favorite books. If you aren’t already obsessed with Rainbow Rowell, start here and thank me later. This is the nerdy college girl who writes fanfiction love story you need in your life.

51KgoCe7hGL._SY346_Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins | Poor Anna is forced to go to boarding school in Paris. After you get done playing her the world’s tiniest violin solo, you’ll find out you like her anyway and then you’ll get completely sucked into this wanderlust love story.

29364480The Bookshop on the Corner by Jenny Colgan isn’t really YA. It’s more like twenty something quarter life crisis meets love letter to books, Scotland and Scottish romance. This was my first and favorite of Colgan’s books.

13206828Cress by Marissa Meyer | This is third in a series so definitely read Cinder first. But this one has my favorite coupling of the series. It’s like Rapunzel except not at all.

30653853The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertelli | This was a surprisingly realistic contemporary romance that really impressed me. The characters feel real, the love story was exceptional and the underlying family story was even better.

Have you read any of these? Which books would you add to the list?

Cress is one of my all-time favorite books. I skipped it for this week’s topic, however, because I already named stuff from the Lunar Chronicles so often before 🙈
