Pretty Pink or Beautiful Blue?

There is a small chance that I’ll find out the  gender of BB Kumquat Etc. at my ultrasound on Monday. Anybody buy into any of the old wives tales for guessing? Carrying high, carrying low? Any other fun ways you’ve guessed right in the past?

Here are some belly shots, both actually taken on the same day – the second shirt tucks me in a bit more, but you can get an idea from these how much I’m showing / how I’m carrying I think – also how amazing I look in this pregnancy. Healthier eating habits rock – I actually look thinner than before we conceived, minus the bulging belly.

I put up a little poll in my sidebar where you can vote, but feel free to comment here with things you’ve heard, tried, etc.

Personally I think I’m kind of hoping for a girl if only because I already have a little boy and I’ve love to shower someone in pink, but I am totally fine with either outcome. Little boys are a lot of fun and I know I’ll be thrilled with either.

Do you think I’m having a boy or a girl?

All I can say is that I carried exactly the same way in both my pregnancies – the first was a girl, the second was twin boys. The first time around all the ladies exclaimed – it’s a boy! What I do believe in is facts – apparently your chance is 75 % to have the same sex as your first baby with a second pregnancy, and 25 % with a third.

You look great! And I say boy!!! When I was pregnant w/ Nikolas everyone did all of the old wives things to me. Spinning ring, swinging needle & a couple of other things I can’t remember. Well it all said “girl” & you’ll note my first kid’s name is NIKOLAS? W/ my daughter I really thought “son” but the name I liked the best ended up being hers – Hanae. Oh & the Dr totally knew since I had a genetic scan done since the little stink has a genetic heart murmur (harmless).

Yeah, I know. Not a big help but you do look wonderful! All glowey & happy.

You look beautiful! No clue about the sex. The only wive’s tale I believe is the one related to when you conceived. If you conceived during ovulation-boy (faster swimmers) and if it was before ovulation–girl (live longer).

Of course I’m voting girl simply because I’m protesting all boys, even if I’m just living vicariously through you. 🙂 Boys are cool to though and you probably still have most of your boy stuff, which is always convenient.
I have no full proof idea how to tell just by how you carry. I always forget which is which high or low, the same goes for the beer before liquor phrase. I always get that mixed up to. Wait what were we talking about?

@ Jen Daily Big Top : Yeah I thought my first would be a girl for months, nope a boy. Clearly mothers instinct doesn’t always mean much. I am definitely going to find out if the baby cooperates!

I voted a girl.. because I think it’d be fun if you had one. You and Dan have that “Perfect” family vibe. Where you should have a older boy and younger girl.

You look fantastic but I have no idea. I thought for sure baby #2 was a boy…everything about the pregnancy was the same as #1. Was so surprised when I heard “it’s a girl!” Are you going to find out?
