My nightstand this month has not been much nicer to me than last month, but I did manage to finish two books since we last spoke instead of just one. Even better, I’m about halfway through my current read, Lioness Rampant by Tamora Pierce. That is especially exciting because I have seriously been trying to read this book for like a year now – it’s the last in the series and it’s about time! Anyway, here are the books I read this month (since my last nightstand post):
- 10-10-10: A Life-Transforming Idea by Suzy Welch – Finished August 25, 2009 – I thought this book was incredibly interesting – I loved the idea of looking at your decisions in the immediate future as well as long term and even longer term and seeing how your values would guide your choices. Welch’s writing style makes this an interesting read so that the entire book felt worth reading even after the simple concept of 10-10-10 was quickly grasped. I’d definitely recommend it. – Full Review –
- The Baby Fat Diet by Monica Bearden, Shara Aaron – Finished September 14, 2009 – While much of this book contained information I already know, I think it would be supremely helpful for a lot of mothers (old and new) out there who are still trying to lose the dreaded baby weight. Most of the information is practical and relatively easy to implement, depending on your commitment level. While, at times, I thought some of their advice was a bit extreme, I have to remind myself that I am a nursing mother with a lot more calories to spare than the average woman of my size and build. I definitely bookmarked a lot of useful information, which I plan to highlight in my review. – Full Review –
What’s up next for my reading pleasure? Today also happened to be the kickoff date for the Fall Into Reading challenge hosted @ Callapidder Days so you can read my full post on my reading wish list here, but here are the books currently in my possession (or have coming) that I have slated to read next…
- Queste by Angie Sage
- The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
- Little Children by Tom Perrotta
- Julie and Julia: 365 Days, 524 Recipes, 1 Tiny Apartment Kitchen by Julie Powell
- The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood by Howard Pyle
- The Inner Peace Diet by Aileen McCabe-Maucher

My baby is three and I still need to get rid of that dreaded “baby fat”. Heck, I needed to still get rid of it after the six year old before getting pregnant with the three year old. LOL
The Hunger Games is an incredible book. I think you will like this read.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
