Random Dozen: October 7th

  1. On an average, how often do you splurge and buy something for yourself? Probably a bit more often than I should though it doesn’t always feel like it.
  2. Are you more like Hall or Oates? Just kidding. Real question: What is the last creative project you began/finished? Feel free to post a pic of it. Wow my mind is drawing a big huge blank. The only real creative project I do these days would be the annual photo calendar we’ve been doing for three years now. Which is always a work in progress as by the time we print one I’m already working on the one for next year.
  3. OK, Goldie Locks, do you consider your house too big, too little or juuuust right? It’s a little too small, but it’s an apartment so I think that’s a given. I cannot wait until we can afford to buy a house. Of course there are definitely some down sides to home ownership but I really would love a back yard, maybe a little porch, more room, all that.
  4. What is your favorite outdoor chore? The fact that I don’t have any since I don’t own my own home?
  5. If you knew that cigarette smoking was not bad for your health but would be a weight loss tool, would you use it? Why or why not? No, smoking is gross and just because you are losing weight doesn’t mean it’s good for you.
  6. On a road trip, would you rather drive or ride? Ride for sure – hubby can (and will) drive!
  7. What do you consider a trivial pursuit? Fame or popularity
  8. This weekend, we downloaded the movie “Duplicity” with Julia Roberts and Clive Owen. Within 5 minutes, I was bored and annoyed, but I kept watching 5-10 minutes at a time hoping it would get better between small chores. I finally gave up and Jorge watched it alone, and then regretted wasting that time because he disliked it intensely, too. So … how long do you watch a movie or read a book before giving up on it? It really depends on the level of disenjoyment. For a book, I do try to give it a few chapters, a movie… at least 30 minutes? But I’ve bailed sooner … and later before.
  9. Is there a song that you really love but are embarrassed to admit because it’s not cool or it’s racy or because it’s by Hall and Oates? Who are Hall and Oates and what did they sing? Really? I’m not really embarrassed by my musical preferences though maybe I should be. Maybe people do look at me funny because I can get down with Flo Rida’, Backstreet Boys and the Curious George soundtrack alike but that’s their problem.
  10. On a scale of 1-10 (10 = extremely) how spontaneous are you? I’m like a … 4 maybe? I plan things constantly so even if it seems like I’ve made a decision quickly, I’ve probably been planning for it in the background for years.
  11. Are you a food and/or beverage snob? Not really, I like some of the finer things in life for sure but I can eat Taco Bell and twinkies with the best of them.
  12. Who/What are you trying to control in your life? (I hear people gulping and see them sweating in anticipation of how to answer this one.) Just my own little family oh and my weight. Nothing that I’m terribly concerned about or don’t think I should be controlling. That’s right, I am that awesome. Sorry.

Your Turn.

I think you’re awesome too! Off the top of my head Hull and Oates sang Man Eater– Whoooaah Here She Comes, Shes A Man Eater… ring a bell? Probably not.

Hi…it was fun reading your answers. Hall and Oates were hugley popular duo (writing that word duo makes them sound uncool but believe me they weren’t) in the 70s and early 80s.

    Loved your #10…sounds like me : )
