Today…
Outside my window: the weather is fairly nice, partly cloudy, but cold. It’s around 11 degrees outside I think which seems to be pretty average these days.
I am hearing: Playhouse Disney on TV – With PBS having had what felt like years of weird scheduling, we’ve branched out and this is now one of MM’s favorite channels. I have to admit, I’m okay with it.
I am thinking: about all of the miscellaneous things going on this week, about the houses I’d love to be looking at seriously to buy, about the dental bills that keep us from accumulating any real savings (even with insurance, it adds up), and about the chores I should probably be doing right now.
I am hoping: Dan can pick up my Amazon package okay. We needed to get Miss BB some larger diaper covers and they had the best price (and I had a gift certificate, score!). They tried to deliver it sometime last week unsuccessfully (our office keeps such weird hours, I wish they’d just bring the package up to my apartment instead of delivering things there) so now we have to pick it up at the post office, which the hubby graciously offered to do on his way home tonight. He’s a keeper.
I am reading: Splendor by Anna Godbersen – I’m like almost halfway through it and part of me wants to just sit and read it all day, and then another part of me wants to linger on the book indefinitely. If there is another book in this series, it probably won’t come out for another year and I covet this series a little too much. If you haven’t checked out the Luxe books, I really recommend them.
I am creating: MM’s ABC book still of course and working on my 365 challenge. I’ve put up pictures for the last three days but haven’t found a great picture to take yet today. Probably getting dressed and doing something more interesting than watching Playhouse Disney would help this endeavor, but for now, we’re in relaxation mode.
I am wearing: said comfy pajamas – and the comfy robe (with pockets!) that I got for Christmas.
In the kitchen:
- Monday: Portobello Mushroom Stroganoff
- Tuesday: Penne Alla Betsey (from the Pioneer Woman Cooks)
- Wednesday: Tomato Pie
- Thursday: French Onion Soup
- Friday: Couscous, mixed veggies and either beans or shrimp probably
Plans for the week: picking up our package from the post office tonight, playdate in the morning on Wednesday and a dentist appointment in the afternoon – and it’s K week so we’ll likely be learning about keys, kings, kiwi, kangaroos, knees, and more…
A few of my favorite things: Aloo Paratha – we made this for dinner last night and it’s really good. I’m very excited to enjoy the leftovers for lunch today; all the cute leggings we made for BB this weekend, a really snazzy addition to her wardrobe; working out with the Wii Fit Plus in the evenings; French Breakfast Puffs from The Pioneer Woman Cookbook were another fun recipe we tried this weekend. It’s been a delicious past few weeks, I gotta say – being a pescetarian has actually improved our cooking a lot as we’ve gotten more creative in the kitchen.
A picture thought:
there’s a two for one special today, enjoy…

She’s sitting up…already? What a cutie. I totally miss the Wiggles too (but fans of the original 4some).

I do enjoy this look at one day of your life. My kids used to love Playhouse Disney when they were little. I miss having that on; I used to love The Bear in the Big Blue House and The Wiggles.
