,

I have the cutest kids in the universe. Sorry every other parent out there, it’s true.

BB took a nap yesterday afternoon and I kind of wanted to call everyone I knew and cheer for joy, except then I’d be worried I’d wake her up so I didn’t. BB is hovering in this world between baby and child. Little and big. Napper and never napper. Tantrums and the sweetest disposition on earth. She loves her yin and yang. But when in doubt, if you just tell her that princesses always nap or princesses chew with their mouths closed or princesses say please and thank you… it tends to work, unless you are seriously relying on it anyway. She’s a rebel that one.

MM starts first grade in less than a week and I think we are all collectively ecstatic. I’ll miss him tagging along with our morning routine but I won’t miss the constantly compromised naptime because somebody would rather play with her big brother than sleep (can you blame her?) and I think he’s looking forward to seeing all of his friends every day and getting to do all the things he loves like recess and having grown ups that aren’t mommy tell him how wonderful he is. I always loved school, too, especially at this age. I totally get it – going grocery shopping with mommy just isn’t nearly as fun. So, let the countdown begin…
