Aloha Friday: Season of Giving

It’s time for another Aloha Friday, the day that you take it easy and look forward to the weekend, in Hawaii and blogland anyway. As you should know by now, over at An Island Life, Kailani decided that on Fridays she would take it easy on posting and ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link at An Island Life’s blog. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

So this morning I’m thinking about Christmas presents. Kailani wants to know what you want for Christmas. I’d like a lot of things – that Leachco pregnancy pillow, a WiiFit, loads and loads of books – but I’m not convinced I’ll be getting any of those things. And that’s fine – for some reason I tend to like giving presents more than receiving them, especially since becoming an adult, so my Aloha Friday question this week is…

What present are you most excited about GIVING this year?

I’m always excited to give gifts to my son. I just love how his eyes light up every time he opens a present.

the gifts i’m excited about giving are those going to those who are less fortunate. we’re giving gifts to a family of 6 who may not be getting anything else, we helped a single mom of 2 pay her rent this month, and we’re going to support a “last chance” kid in haiti.

I’ve only gotten a few gifts so far…thats the procrastinator/husband is a scrooge and says to wait and then goes crazy at the last minute excuse.
I did get my oldest son a New York Giants Eli Manning jersey. I don’t know why this kid became obsessed with the NY Giants but he is. He never has even thought or asked for it but I think it will be a huge surprise and he’ll love it. Unless of course he all of a sudden hates the Giants by Christmas. 🙂

I can’t wait to give my 5 year old his digital Camera. He has wanted them ever since they came out a few years ago. I decided this year it was a must. He is going to be so excited.

I am most excited to give my sister her gift. I am making her an apron. She has been wanting one for a long time, so she will be excited to get it!

I usually am excited about the gift to my husband, but thus far haven’t figured out what that is going to be.

I’m excited for Santa (my little girl is in here with me and can read) to bring my little guy his presents. He was so specific about the items that I can’t wait to see his face Christmas morning.

I think I’m most excited about a present that I’m not even giving …

My husband wanted a new guitar for Christmas but he couldn’t find one that he really wanted (i.e. wanted to spend the money on). So, I settled on buying him a few things he needed (not really wanted).

However, he stumbled across the guitar that he wanted on eBay, bid on it yesterday and won it! I can’t even begin to describe his enthusiasm – he was excited, thrilled and acted like a little boy he was so happy. I can’t wait for him to receive it. My husband works so very hard to support us – he DESERVES this.

I am excited for Manga Dork’s present from Santa but I am so paranoid about her finding out I can’t bring myself to tell you what it is….I worry she will come over here and find out. LOL!

I am excited to watch my girls open all of the presents -Santa is giving- their joy just thrills me. I also am excited to see my sister open her Uggs I got her. But my favorite gift is the JetBlue giftcard we are sending my inlaws in FL- with in invitation to visit us when we move because it means getting a new home is on our horizen!

I am most excited about giving my son games for the Nintendo DS that I will be giving him. He does not know that I plan on letting him use it and will be thrilled to get the chance with his own games.

Hey! Great question! I like how you took greediness out of the equation. 🙂 I’m looking forward to giving my husband a photo memory book I made at WalMart.com. I spend WAY too much time online organizing it yesterday, and I can’t wait for him to see it. He always complains that I load my pictures of the kids into the computer and erase them off the camera before he can see them (I probably do), so this will be a nice, complete way for him to see some of our best pics from the last year. It was cheap, like $4, so if it turns out nice, I might do this every year, since I can never seem to find the time (or maybe motivation) to print out tons of photos to scrapbook or put them into albums.

Good question, Jen. I’m most excited about giving my parents their gifts. They lurve martinis, so I them a mongrammed martini shaker form PB and glasses. A few other cool things I know they will love and not have expected.

I know my daughter will be excited to get her guitar hero as well. =)
