Friday Weekly R.E.P.O.R.T.

I saw this on Instagram and it reminded me of the day book entries we used to do back in the day. A snapshot of your week / month/ whatever with the formatting of a third grade alphabet poem? 🤣 Perfect.

So here’s what I’ve been…

Reading Prodigal Summer, Dungeon Crawler Carl, and Margo’s Got Money Troubles. Really enjoying all three. I’ve mentioned them before in other posts.

Eating: Spaghetti bolognese – last weekend we had dinner with friends after playing d&d like we do every Sunday and our host was polling the group ahead of time about what she should cook. I chimed in immediately with spaghetti bolognese and she was like oh I’ve never made that before but she looked up a recipe and then expertly created a feast including homemade sourdough focaccia. My husband was in his glory because she’s a great cook and meanwhile when I said bolognese I actually meant like just spaghetti and meat sauce.

My basic recipe is cook ground beef with some garlic, add a can of cheap spaghetti sauce (I like Hunts four cheese). Put on spaghetti. It’s easy and everyone likes it. I season the meat and stuff. It’s good. Now my husband is going to be like where’s the red wine and Worcestershire sauce? Wah. But seriously it was delicious. If you love cooking, definitely try this recipe. If you just want to get dinner on the table though: girl, same.

Playing: My husband and I have been really into Valheim,  a video game that we play through Steam. We really like multiplayer games where we can explore a world together, he can help me with the fighting which I’m terrible at, I can get really into building and farming or whatever while he goes on mining binges. This has been one of our favorites.

Obsessing over my latest order from Bloom Chic. I treated myself to a dress and sweater that are so cute and whimsical and they fit! And I love them! I was worried they would be kinda garish in person but they are so cute. The print on the dress is just subtle enough for my taste but so cute up close. The sweater is soft and cozy and both items have POCKETS. 🥰

Recommending Dungeon Crawler Carl to everyone, just like the rest of the Internet. I’m 40% through book one and loving it and the algorithm definitely knows. 🤣

Treating ourselves to pumpkin spice chai lattes since Big Coffee has decided that fall is here. My youngest has fully entered her Basic Fall Girl Era. She’s been jonesing for pumpkin flavored everything and was stoked when all the coffee shops started releasing fall menus this week. We both had Pumpkin spice iced chai yesterday at our local Barnes and Noble style Starbucks.
