One year when I was in high school we had a pretty brutal winter. Lots of snow days. Cold and wet. You know, pretty normal New England winter weather. But being the obnoxious teenagers we were, we had the clever idea to “boycott snow” – all this really meant was printing a big piece of paper that said:
NO MORE SNOW
in really big letters. We taped them to our notebooks and carried them around and felt really clever. It didn’t stop the snow but it did give us a fun story to remember and the feeling that we were able to voice our opinions, no matter how silly.
I recently clicked a little box in my dashboard options that let snow fall on my blog page. It was pretty and peaceful to watch but sometimes when I was updating my blog it would bog down my connection and make things run slower. Then I got a comment from a reader saying she had a hard time leaving me said comment because of the damned snow. I like snow when it’s pretty but when it makes my life difficult, that love vanishes like an icy cold shoulder. I may not be able to melt the foot of snow outside that’s making my husband’s daily commute an hour long hell (he only works 5 miles away, so that’s ridiculous by the way) but I can choose to unclick a small button in my dashboard settings that is making your viewing experience less than enjoyable.
So to my readers who were enjoying the falling snow, I’m sorry. You can always watch this instead:

ahhhh, snow. I hate it. We had the same storm you did but didnt get as much even by half but it still causes problems and headaces. I spent 20 minutes digging out my car enough to move it to a clean spot…then once it was clear somone goes and steals it from me. Now.. my the lights on my porch are covered in ice and half a string went out. Oh do I jut love winter… NOT. Hang in there hunny… we are both in for long cold winters. I swear someday I really will up and move South.

Ahhh…Winter has arrived with a vengance! Love it/hate it- it is what it is. This blizzard that we had here, was actually one of the worst since 1979 and that’s within the time frame that I would have LOVED a blizzard as a kid! I don’t mind snow if IT I NOT too cold, NOT too windy, and NOT too icy! Tough request.
