I finally finished the little paper nativity scene that MM and I started working on a couple weeks ago. We’d temporarily abandoned the project as he didn’t seem very into it initially but he was a bit of a coloring fiend yesterday and blew through the pages quickly. Today during his nap I set about cutting and taping and assembling all the little pieces. I think it came out pretty cute.
MM is just starting to come into his own where coloring is concerned. Up until recently he mostly just asked Dan and I to color for him which was a little bit tiring to say the least, but he seems to be finding his own creative spark all of a sudden and I’m loving it.
I quickly noticed a trend in his coloring – a bit of a theme if you will…
He really likes to choose one color and stick with it.
That poor brown crayon must be worn out.
Yet somehow he instinctively seemed to know that those Three Wise Men…
Were something special, deserving of a different color – multiple colors even!
Do you think he knows that purple is the color of royalty?
Either way, this kid is clearly going places. Am I right?

Very cute! BB went through this phase forever where he detested coloring but he’s come around probably by force. 🙂

So cute. I’m glad that he’s starting to like coloring. Find a good book and I bet he’ll stay busy for a while. Hope Santa brings a new pack of crayons. Thanks for the link. I have a certain someone who’d love to do this.
