Last year I made it a monthly habit to showcase my top 5 pictures from each month of my 365 project and I definitely plan to continue doing so this year!
I just uploaded my picture for today and since it’s the last day of January (did it fly by fast for you or drag on for eternity? Somehow I feel like it was both for me) I thought I’d go ahead and post my favorite five pictures now before I forget.
So, without further babble, here are my 5 favorite pictures from January (in order of date taken):

This was actually my first picture of the year for my 2011 365 project and it may be my favorite of the month. I snapped a gazillion pictures during our most recent visit to Dan’s office and got so many amazing artsy pictures but this one just takes the cake for sure.

The next day didn’t involve nearly as much picture taking. I snapped this one randomly while watching tv of little BB playing under the table. She immediately got up afterwards in an effort to run from the camera, but I’d already gotten what I wanted. An adorable, intimate view of her life on her level. I’m not sure if it’s a technically good picture, but I adore it.

This picture got a lot of views on the 365 website and I have to admit, I’m pretty smitten with it, too. She’s been on a mission to touch anything and everything. At the beginning of the month she was reaching. By the end of the month, she now just climbs onto the table and grabs whatever it is she wants. No matter how many times I firmly ask her not to.

We’ve been teaching MM some very simple swim skills this month on most Sundays, in preparation for his first swim class, in which we parents will apparently not be in the water with our kids – news that panicked me. But he’s done so well with his swim lessons with daddy that we are confident he will do great.

We’ve made it a tradition these past few months to have breakfast for dinner on Fridays in celebration of the weekend. I have to admit, I look forward to it all week. This weekend I made blueberry pancakes (cheating a bit with Bisquick instead of homemade, but still delicious). I love MM’s blurry, excited face peeking from the background of this picture. He’s a big fan of Friday night dinners, too!
I actually had a really hard time choosing just five pictures this month, which is never a bad thing! There were a lot of fun, cute moments this month. They were often messy, inevitably silly, sometimes tasty and full of good memories. Definitely looking forward to seeing what February brings!

You mentioned that you weren’t certain if pic #2 was a good photo. If you like it is good. I think it’s wonderful too just for the reasons you specified. You got down on her level & were able to capture just one of the little things she does. Great job!

Love your new tradition of breakfast for dinner on Fridays. That sounds lovely. Top photo is my favourite one too Jen.
