Obsessing over: planning all the little details for MM’s 6th birthday. I started planning very early but didn’t want to do too much because, well, it was still so early. Now the party is 3 weeks away and we’ll be pretty busy each weekend, so we started actually figuring out what food we want to serve, what activities we want to do, etc. And then trying to get the supplies to make it all happen (except the food, I’m planning to get that while grocery shopping for the most part). A fun Star Wars party in MM’s future I see.
Feeling: a little tired, between staying up awfully late on Saturday after a fun birthday party for MM’s friend and then game night with my Newcomers Group (so much freaking fun) and being a bit of a zombie Sunday morning and then getting woken up at 2:30 am to MM announcing he’d thrown up…. yeah, I’m kinda dragging today. The good news is, whatever made him throw up only happened once so far. We’re keeping him home from school just in case but he’s in a great mood and seems to be not sick at all to be honest.
Working on: planning out all the little details for upcoming birthday parties, travel plans and holidays. All the details are starting to come together. It’s all happening, man!
Thinking about: how grateful I am that we got to spend so much time outdoors while the weather was so beautiful. There was a lot of time spent eating outdoors, playing in kiddie pools, coloring with sidewalk chalk and trying out a new scooter (I broke down and got one early for MM so he can use it during Spring Break). This morning the weather was chilly again and jackets were pulled out of hibernation. We’ll see for how long.
Reading: Bossypants by Tina Fey and nearly finished with it. I am still loving this book, she is so funny and insightful and then funny all at the same time. It’s going to be hard to talk about My New American Life at book club on Wednesday when this book was just so much more interesting and enjoyable to me! lol
Anticipating: um, basically everything. I could go over the list of all the big amazing exciting again if you want, but let’s just say that April is going to be so much fun that having one more week left of March seems like a bit of a punishment. Especially what with the return of normal cold March weather.
Listening to: the birds chirping to each other outside and the kids watching Disney Junior together. Both pretty peaceful sounds!
Drinking: nothing, maybe it’s time for a glass of water?
Wishing: the laundry would finish itself. Fun weekends make Mondays harder to push through.

These are the things we served at The Boy’s Star Wars party a few years ago: Yoda Soda (just regular punch or whatever, though we did lime Kool-Aid with Sprite and lime sherbet), Wookiee Cookies, Darth Vader Tater Chips (potato or corn chips), Snow Trooper Snowballs (popcorn). Soooo much fun! (Here’s the whole party review: http://jmanullang.blogspot.com/2008/11/nov-10-in-galaxy-not-far-away.htm). Have a blast!

We’ve got a lot of these ideas planned – we must have found similar google search results! lol I’m planning to actually do a Wookie Cookie Cake because the name makes me giggle and some Hoth Chocolate Cupcakes for people who think cookies as cakes might be sacrilige. 🙂

April is always crazy busy for us. I guess that goes with saying when you have two boys with birthdays in April. Have fun with the Star Wars party. I’ve had my fair share of Star Wars parties 🙂
