Aloha Friday: Snackage

It’s time for another Aloha Friday, the day that you take it easy and look forward to the weekend, in Hawaii and blog land anyway. As you should know by now, over at An Island Life, Kailani decided that on Fridays she would take it easy on posting and ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

Last week I asked you about your favorite thing to eat for breakfast, this week in a similar vein, I’d love to know:

What is your favorite snack food? Healthy snacks during the day and the snacks you indulge in at night after a long day – and anything in between, tell me all about it.

Personally during the day I’m always struggling to find a new fresh perfect healthy snack to tide me over between meals. My favorite things are probably the Yoplait Light yogurts (lemon cream pie, apple turnover, key lime pie… yum), Bliss granola bars (I love the raspberry flavor), and goldfish crackers, because I’m still a kid at heart. I also love graham crackers topped with cheddar cheese, a snack I found during my first pregnancy with MM and still love.

At night, my favorite is probably still Wachusett Sour Cream and Onion potato chips (or some equally yummy, crunchy treat) but I also love the Skinny Cow ice cream bars and ice cream sandwiches, frozen yogurt, cookies like Joe Joes (Trader Joes Oreos) or any of my homemade variety, and Trader Joe’s Apple Blossoms (I swear I don’t eat all of those in one night) with a nice glass of Brisk Iced Tea on the side.

Lets see.. since I am on a diet .. I don’t have the luxury to snack :(((( But gum seems to be helping lately lol Although one of my past time snacks are a chex mex snack.. I forget the name but this is what is in it.. (its not healthy)

8 cups of chex mex
1 package of white almond bark
4 cups of crushed pretzel sticks
2 cups of peanuts (or any nuts)

melt the chocolate in the microwave and mix it with everything. Then lay it all out on wax paper or a huge pan.. and let it dry.. then break it up. Oh my word i Love it to snack on.. grrr.. I’m gaining weight thinking about it.

During the day I snack on WW snacks – they make brownies now that are pretty good. Or a rice pudding. Or fat free plain yogurt with blueberries and a Splenda thrown in for some sweetness. Very exciting stuff.

At night I’m usually munching on pretzel crisps – the Everything flavor if I can find it. Or popcorn. Or WW ice cream, they have some yummy ones.

During the day, its a fruit salad depending on the fresth fruit of the season. I don’t snack much during the day. At night, I have a mix, usually potato chips, spanish olives, montery jack or swiss cheese, french onion dip. Then top it off with two mini peanut butter cups. Yummo!

Apple and peanut butter, baked chips and salsa, those 100 cal packs of whatever are good, carrots and light dressing, yogurt, string cheese, hard boiled egg.

I’m really not a big snacker during the day. I usually have something at night though (bowl of cereal, oatmeal or ice cream-which I know is not healthy).

I have been going crazy for chocolate chip muffins lately! Seriously, I’ve even been sneaking the ones that are supposed to be my husband’s work breakfast! The Betty Crocker mix is the best, hands down, and you only have to add water. Ooh, I wish we had some right now (but I probably ate them all)! 😉

During the day at work I take a bag of grapes, a banana and a bag of baby carrots. I love fresh stuff so I eat these all the time. Occasionally I will eat some cottage cheese with pineapple.
Now in the evening I eat ice cream and lots of it. LOL…
