TEASER TUESDAYS asks you to:

  • Grab your current read.
  • Let the book fall open to a random page.
  • Share with us two (2) “teaser” sentences from that page, somewhere between lines 7 and 12.
  • You also need to share the title of the book that you’re getting your “teaser” from … that way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you’ve given!
  • Please avoid spoilers!

My Teasers (So I found two GREAT teasers this morning and I just cannot choose, so I’m just going to go for broke and break all the rules today):

“Sometimes, during the late afternoon especially, I feel so genuinely rotten that I worry it won’t ever end, not even after the baby’s born. I worry that I will always feel like throwing up, and that, for the rest of my life, that’s all I’ll have to talk about.”

“And when I called my OB practice about the migraines, they really didn’t muster a whole lot of concern. But you know how it is – you could call and say, “My leg fell off in the supermarket,” and they’d be like, “Of course it did. That’s really common, especially in all this heat.”

[…] The book I’m reading! – I’ve had excellent book luck so far this year and Waiting For Birdy by Catherine Newman is no exception. Get this guys – it’s a memoir by a woman who wrote a column at babycenter.com about finding out she was pregnant with her second child (when her first child, a son, was about 2 1/2) and all those weird second time around, “Do I really want this?” stuff as well as typical mommy worries, potty training, etc. It’s like reading about my life by someone way better at writing than me. Spooky but awesome. You can read some great teasers for this book here. […]

This woman is a really funny writer. I’m not a mom, but I read an excerpt from her about why she loved her husband that was featured in a Valentine’s Day article on MSN.com, and I really want to read her book. I’ve been following her blog on that mom’s website.

    Thanks for the tease.

*laughs* Those are great quotes, especially the last one. Someone I know had morning sickness for the entire nine months of her pregnancy — I’m sure she can really relate to the first!
