Today…
Outside my window: it’s very dark. The sun has been setting earlier and earlier with the result that by this time (about 8:30 pm) I am already feeling tired and ready for bed. Or maybe that’s just because of the newborn.
I am hearing: Dan trying to calm down the baby by making silly noises in her general direction.
I am thinking: that all this dental work is getting a bit old. I had the last two cavities filled today so I’m in the clear for the rest of the year. In January I’ll be getting the post put in for my crown – not sure what the recovery for that will be like but I can tell you I’m not really looking forward to it.
I am hoping: that Perkins won’t be crazy busy on Thursday and we’ll be able to get a seat and have some pie there after our Thanksgiving meal at home. I could make pie but I’m trying to avoid too many leftovers. We have temptations enough already.
I am reading: The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins – finally. I’m only about three or four chapters in but definitely enjoying it so far.
I am creating: the ABC book and also working on the family calendar and trying to decide what I want to do for our Christmas cards this year.
I am wearing: blue jeans and a brown v-neck wrap style shirt with flowers on it.
In the kitchen:
- Monday: Asian Noodles with tofu & veggies
- Tuesday: Spaghetti and Italian Sausage
- Wednesday: Burgers and Brats (still trying to clean out all the meat from our freezer!)
- Thursday November 26th (Happy Thanksgiving): Baked Pumpkin with Mixed Rice Pilaf, tuna steaks and sweet potatoes
- Friday: Breakfast for Dinner: French Toast with Fresh Fruit and boca bacon
Plans for the week: BB has her 4 month check up on Wednesday and Thursday we’ll be making a Thanksgiving lunch then hopefully going to Perkins for dessert. That’s all that’s set in stone but I’m trying to convince Dan to take a day trip to visit the IKEA and Container Store in Illinois this weekend. We’ll see if that happens.
A few of my favorite things: the cute leggings Dan made for BB this weekend, the delicious leftover cake I made Dan this weekend (which tastes better now that it’s at room temperature than it did warm the first night), our pineapple corer which is like the most amazing tool ever, the new Glade Scented Oil Candles…

Dan made leggings! I am very impressed. Your hubby is really talented.
I think everyone starts to feel more tired as the nights draw in. I hate the dark evenings and I feel ready for bed about 8pm.
