daybook: december 14th

Today…

Outside my window: we’re getting some flurries but it’s only about 30 degrees – it could definitely be colder!

I am hearing: MM chattering in his room (i.e. not napping) and BB cooing in my lap.

I am thinking: I should get dressed so we can go check the mail soon and maybe attempt to pick up the six packages waiting for me in the office. How I’ll get those packages up to my apartment, I haven’t the foggiest idea yet.

I am hoping: it snows less than one inch so I so won’t have to move my car tomorrow. All this “being a grown up in inclement weather while my husband is in NY for a week” stuff is lame.

I am reading: Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins and I’m almost done! I feel like I just started reading it but I cannot put it down and I’ve only got about 50 pages to go! If you haven’t checked out The Hunger Games series yet you really really should!

I am creating: nothing yet but I plan to do some major gift wrapping this weekend – oh and of course I’m still working on MM’s ABC book. I also printed this cute paper nativity scene that we are working on together, but MM is the world’s slowest colorer so it’s slow going.

I am wearing: pajamas still – I swear I’ll get dressed this week! Although if I didn’t have to check the mail it would be tempting not to.

In the kitchen:

  • Monday: Boca Chunky Tomato & Herb Lasagna (freezer meal)
  • Tuesday: Frozen Pizza
  • Wednesday: Macaroni and Cheese
  • Thursday: Spaghetti with Italian Sausage and Sauce
  • Friday: Grilled Cheese and Soup

Plans for the week: check the mail, get dressed, stay sane…

A few of my favorite things: we baked and decorated cookies this weekend and they came out really cute. We also went to a Christmas Tree Farm over the weekend and MM met Santa and Mrs. Claus. It was very brief and I didn’t get a picture but he LOVED it and that’s all that matters.

A picture thought:

Hope you don’t get too much snow! But December is here, what should we expect in these cooler climates? Good luck all week.

Take care this week flying solo. It’s never easy but trust me, the week will fly by and before you know it DH will be home again.
