monday mentions: december 14th

Monday Mentions is an easy way to share any and all of the fun things you’ve discovered recently, online or otherwise. For more information read this post by the mastermind behind this whole thing, Jen @ Daily Mish Mash. Here’s what I’ve discovered this week…

Christmas is just 11 days away! This season has flown by fast, but it’s not too late to enjoy these holiday ideas:

They finally released Google Chrome (in beta) for Mac and Linux users and I could not wait to install it and give it a whirl. It’s been about a week now and I have to say I am pretty smitten. If you haven’t tried Chrome yet, I’d recommend it.

Attention JOHN MAYER FANS: John is going to be on The Ellen Show on Tuesday – make sure you set your DVRs if you haven’t already – he’ll be performing his new song ‘Heartbreak Warfare.’

Do you read XKCD? Sometimes their comic strips are WAY over my head but they are always funny and sometimes, like last week – they are just awesome. I know all you parents reading will get a kick out of this one:

Finally, I’ve been a fan of The Bloggess since pretty much forever. If you haven’t visited her site before, you really aught to. Want a teaser of her awesomeness? Check out this video she made in response to last week’s episode of Glee:

I like the comic you put up today. Have you ever read Baby Blues? Hubby & I found them 12 yrs ago when I was in labor w/ the Prince. Even though the kids don’t age that much I still laugh like crazy reading the bits & bobs.

I hate it when Hubby has to travel for work too. Right now he’s being considered for a job w/ 100% travel. Not what I’m thrilled about but… Friday is going to be one of the best days of your life! *g*

Gotta finish my cards still! Shall we race? I just can’t seem to hurry on this one. Ugh!!!!

    Have fun this week.

I saw that recipe over at Smitten Kitchen too. I make a mean poached pear in vanilla and white wine but I might have to give those roasted pears a whirl.

I have Chrome installed but I’ve yet to see where the advantage over Firefox is. Do tell!
