So I’m thinking about picking up a Nintendo DS (Lite if you were curious) in a couple months when our tax money comes in (it’s gonna be a good year for tax returns in our family) and I’ve been spending some time on Amazon trying to decide which color I like and what games I want to get and what games my husband might like if I decide to share it with him…
I’m gonna want some puzzle / word games for sure – I’d love to get a good assortment of crosswords, sudoku, word searches and also brain teasers. I also want to get a Harvest Moon game because there appear to be a ton of them on DS to choose from and I love me some Harvest Moon (why yes I am a huge nerd) and I’m also intrigued by Professor Layton and the Curious Village… and of course there’s like a gazillion others that look interesting. There are a lot of DS games out there, many that look similar to each other and many have good reviews and also terrible reviews or almost no reviews because they are new or haven’t come out yet…
So, my aloha friday question today is:
Do you have a DS? If so, what games would you recommend?
If not: if you had $200 to spend on yourself , what would you buy?

everyone in my family But me has a ds lite & we all love them. Oddly enough if you just want to play barbie games are pretty fun. When BB is old enough for the movies don’t be afraid because they really are pretty good & now they’ve gotten into more of a save the world attitude & they’ve also gone away from the idea that everyone needs to have a significant other. Friendship is what they stress. Whew! And to think you just asked about a ds lite….lol

My boys have a DS …as you probably know. We got Brain Age (for me) for the boys, it’s pretty fun/challenging. We’ve been renting a bunch of games which is so worth it if the game is crap. The only other one I really liked was Scribblenot you draw a picture and it’s like a story and it takes you on to the next thing …like there’s a gap between something and you have to get to it how would you get to it? You draw a car and it takes you to that item…it’s hard to explain but really challenging and fun.

No DS here. $200? I would use it for a night or two at a hotel for a mini-getaway.

No I do not have one and I am a no video game parent so I probably never will. 🙂 $200 I would probably but aside and spend along with other money to go on vacation this summer.

Super Mario Brothers! It really is fun and they do have some mini games that are puzzles.
I would buy clothes or a new lens (50mm).
