Our meet up group had a play date at the fire station this morning. They gave a tour of the building, showing us where the fire fighters eat, sleep, train and play video games. The tour verged on the dull side despite the friendly tour guide, it just wasn’t very age appropriate – not enough hands on fun – and my son was one of the older kids there! But we still had a good time, got to take home a fun hat and met some new friends.

I was just wondering about your playgroup & how it was going. You guys had a bummer of a tour. We had my son’s b-day party @ our then local fire station & it was awesome! The kids got to climb in & out of every vehicle & turn on the lights & sirens a few times. The ff even got a call that turned out to not be so when they came back they left the ladder truck out & took parent’s cameras up to the top of the ladder & took tons of photos. We even left w/ not just the hat but a goodie bag too. Trust me, when you’re ready to deliver @ any moment, that was the best thing possible!
Sorry yours wasn’t as good but really, the photo opp looked too good to pass up!

Normally I would be happy to see fire engines, however after having five parked outside my house on Saturday, I am not so happy. Luckily not putting out a fire at my house, but at my neighbours, but it still scared the life out of me.

What kind of firehouse does not turn on the siren? That’s like the highlight of the show!
