Today…
Outside my window: It’s a gorgeous blue skies, sunny day again. We had a short storm last night that made for some pretty pictures but other than that it’s been hot summer weather here in Wisconsin.
I am happy because: we’re flying to MA to visit family in just 3 weeks! Last night we went through our luggage to make sure we had enough and it looks like we’re going to be fine with what we have – woohoo! Now to figure out some technical details like parking and car seat logistics and all that boring stuff. Either way – in three weeks I’ll get to see friends and family finally. I can’t wait! And then next month we’re planning to take our first camping trip!
I am still reading: Eat What You Love, Love What You Eat by Michelle May and Sweet Life by Mia King which I found at the library this weekend and just couldn’t resist. I’d been reading Percy Jackson and The Lightening Thief but decided to put it down temporarily in favor of Sweet Life which I’ve been wanting to read for awhile. I’m also still perusing The Naked Buddha by Adrienne Howley.
This weekend we: finally went to this beautiful local library that I’ve been meaning to stop in since like forever and oh my god it’s beautiful and gigantic and they have a fantastic selection and an amazing children’s section. It’s basically the library of my DREAMS. I’m planning to start taking the kids there at least once a week. Other than that we did a lot of cleaning around the house and lounging as much as possible.
In the kitchen:
- Monday: Baked Potatoes with Chili
- Tuesday: Grilled Cheese with Tomatoes and Salad
- Wednesday: Quesadillas
- Thursday: Potato Soup
- Friday: Salmon with Couscous and Veggies
We also: cut MM’s hair this weekend. His eyes look so much bigger than usual (if that’s possible) and of course he looks so much older, as he always does after a haircut.

One last thing I want to tell you about before I go: on Saturday we took the kids to the playground. I wanted to show Dan the playground where I met with my friend from my meetup group last week – this place is really terrific and I knew Dan would love it. Check out this adorable collage of our adventures:

@ Jen : I seriously think I change my header / layout more than any blogger I know – it’s an addiction – and the main reason I have been avoiding paid for layouts. I am fickle in my design-love. 🙂

Like the new header. You are always changing things up here. I’m so happy for your trip back to MA – that will be so much fun!

I’m considering reading Percy Jackson also, the oldest has been reading the whole series and is ready for the last book. He’s been trying to talk me into it so I may cave.
I have library envy…your new library sounds like our old library in Texas. Glad you found an awesome one.

Yeah! Family fun. Can’t beat that, eh? I’m so jealous of that grass outside your window. One of these years we will too!
