My little girl is becoming more and more of a “big girl” – a dare devil and a risk taker. A mover and a shaker? Her hair is gradually growing longer and longer which makes her look older and older. Her outfits lately make her look even more sophisticated and grown up. I guess that’s my fault – poking the bear with a stick you could say.
She finally seems to be over The Sickness, thank goodness, and is quickly getting back into old rhythms also known as trouble making, mischief and mayhem.
Climbing the walls, the chairs, the tables and then standing perched on the side, threatening to dive right off them. Makes me want to remove any furniture taller than four inches from the apartment. You know, all of it.
This is the reason why we decided against putting our Christmas tree on top of the coffee table like we have in previous years. I feel like we’d just be asking her to climb onto the table or knock the tree off of it. Better to just leave it on the ground and accept the fact that our tree is about as tall as our four year old.
Which isn’t very tall at all.
Godwin doesn’t seem to mind though. He says as far as he’s concerned, the tree is perfect – just the right size for a curious elf or a curious baby ninja girl.
ps: the title of this post is from the song Never Grow Up by Taylor Swift. I am loving her CD, Speak Now – anyone else a fan? Here are some more lyrics – great song for us mommas…
Your little hands wrapped around my finger
And it’s so quiet in the world tonight
Your little eyelids flutter cause you’re dreaming
So I tuck you in and turn on your favorite nightlight
To you, everything’s funny
You got nothing to regret
I’d give all I have honey
If you could stay like that
(Chorus:)
Oh darling don’t you ever grow up, don’t you ever grow up
Just stay this little
Oh darling don’t you ever grow up, don’t you ever grow up
It could stay this simple
I won’t let nobody hurt you
Wont let no one break your heart
No one will desert you
Just try to never grow up
Never grow up

Oh she is so beautiful! I feel the same way about my babe. He is changing before my eyes. We haven’t put our tree up this year, but I know it’s going to be trouble.

Our tree is about my height, and I’m okay with it. It’s just a tree, right? And, we don’t have room for anything better.
Love her little sweater or sweater dress..so cute.

I love Taylor Swift! For someone so young & w/o kids she really does hit just the right notes, eh?
I was just thinking the other day how long BB’s hair is getting & how much more mature she is looking. Bet her & MM have a lot of fun playing together these days. I totally miss those young children days. I find that I’m very much looking forward to being a Grandma in say, 10 yrs!
