Last night we finally took a walk to the little playground down the street from our new house. We’ve been to several parks in our town and each has it’s pros and cons. Some are a bit too advanced for our young kids or have plenty for the five year old to do but not much for the one year old. Some are in disrepair or in a less than stellar neighborhood. Too crowded, too unpopulated, too close to busy streets, too far away to visit often.

But this one just might be perfect. We’ve seen a few other kids here when we’ve driven by but it rarely seems packed full of kids. Just the right speed perhaps?

It’s sturdy enough that mom and dad can climb on board with the kids without worrying about weight limits. And the slides and structures are wide enough that we fit without feeling like morons.

It has swings, slides and climbing structures that are enough to give MM a sense of room to grow and explore, but plenty of options for little BB, too. And since it’s such a small playground, I won’t feel overwhelmed while both kids do their own thing.

And best of all, the location is just superb. It’s practically in our backyard. A short walk around the block leads us to the park entrance and there is a paved sidewalk all the way through the park to the playground. The walk is just enough to feel like exercise, but close enough that you wouldn’t say, “I don’t feel like walking all the way to the playground.”

We have lots of memories to make in this little playground and I am looking forward to it! Lots of days of swinging and sliding and climbing and laughing and playing. 🙂 This one feels like home.
