Obsessing over: this awesome weather we’ve been having. The temperature has been so nice and warm and we’ve got temps in the 70’s expected this week! I want to spend a LOT of time outdoors this week!

Feeling: pretty tired, I didn’t sleep well last night for no obvious reason.

Working on: like a million things, per usual. This weekend we did some spring cleaning maintenance – cleaning out filters and draining the hot water heater and stuff – well that’s what Dan did. I reupholstered two of our kitchen chairs that were just looking so ughhhh. Well they’ve always looked like that, since I inherited them from a relative – and I decided it was time for a mini face lift.

Check out the new red seats! These used to be a faded black color that had seen better days. The next step will be refinishing the chairs themselves, but that’s a bigger project for another day.

Thinking about: what a nice weekend it was. Apart from all that keeping busy we also managed to take the kids to see Puss in Boots (the last movie in a Winter Dreams film series of 2nd run kids movies for $2 a ticket) and it was so funny, the whole family enjoyed it – even the 2 year old. Afterwards we had lunch at Pizza Hut and it brought back so many childhood memories. My dad and I used to eat there a lot when I was growing up, but the ones in MA just weren’t very good so we never went. We just tried one here in WI and Dan was pretty pleasantly surprised. We had a nice meal and brought leftovers home for an easy dinner.

Reading: My New American Life by Francine Prose, which my book club will be discussing at the end of the month. I’m about 100 pages in (out of 300) and finding it… just okay. The story is somewhat interesting to me but something about the writing style just isn’t doing it for me. Luckily it’s a pretty easy read so I don’t mind sticking it out for the sake of our book club discussion.

Anticipating: a week of beautiful weather, some fun Newcomers events coming up like Team Trivia, Game Night and Book Club – and a pretty terrific month of April coming up! My little boy is turning 6 next month!

Listening to: m-i-c-k-e-y m-o-u-s-e….

Drinking: WATER. And still finishing my breakfast. It’s another morning of lingering through a bowl of oatmeal until it’s practically lunch time.

Wishing: the laundry was already one. It’s the big thing that got pushed aside while we were being productive in other areas this weekend. I also need to empty the dishwasher… I know, poor me, huh?
