Check out the kids all decked out in their Halloween Costumes! If you didn’t know that I was a nerd before now, you surely know it now. Also, it runs in the family.
When my six year old, MM, asked to be The Doctor for Halloween I might have done an internal happy dance, squealed like a little girl inside and then said something like, “Yeah, sure. Whatev.”
It might have taken me weeks of searching thrift stores, Amazon.com, Old Navy and Think Geek.com to track down all of the components. We might have spray painted an old pair of rubber rain boots red in a last ditch effort to make this thing happen.
But bow ties are cool. So it kind of had to happen.
I totally acknowledge and accept that a lot of people are not going to “get” these costumes. I even admit that I took some Christmas pictures of them while they were in their costumes because seriously, they double as just cute dressy outfits that are perfect for the holidays.
I wasn’t sure if it would work – if it would be obvious to even the most Hard Core of Doctor Who fans what we were going for. But with all the elements together – it all works amazingly well (to this biased Nerdy Momma anyway).
There she is – the girl who waited.
“There’s a little girl waiting in a garden. She’s going to wait a long while, so she’s going to need a lot of hope. Go to her. Tell her a story. Tell her that if she’s patient, the days are coming that she’ll never forget. Tell her she’ll go to see and fight pirates. She’ll fall in love with a man who’ll wait two thousand years to keep her safe. Tell her she’ll give hope to the greatest painter who ever lived. And save a whale in outer space. Tell her, this is the story of Amelia Pond. And this is how it ends.”
Sorry, couldn’t resist.
Happy Halloween guys! May your evening be filled with delicious candy, cute costumes that make your hearts melt a little, and maybe just a little wibbly wobbly timey wimey goodness!

Believe me I really loved it! Awesomness for reals! I am completely caught up on all the seasons including the last thanks to BBC replaying. Do you think the Angles Take Manhatten had a weak storyline for Moffatt? Don’t get wrong I cried for the Ponds but the story itself..meh. Sigh I had to get that off my chest. 🙂
