Red rubber rain boots with stripes and tutus and Elmo winter hats. Weather that can’t make up it’s mind. Little girls who can’t make up their mind. Puppies who can’t stop chewing. This is my life right now. But I thought I’d take a little time to quickly blog about some of the stuff that I’m into lately, inspired by The Snugly Duckling.
What I’m reading:
The Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling for my book club this month. So far I have mixed feelings about this one. On the one hand, it’s so obviously Rowling in the writing style which I am enjoying but the characters leave something to be desired in that so far there are no likeable ones. It’s kind of like a world full of nasty muggles. That said, it’s a bit funny and I have hopes that it will get better.
I’m also reading Bringing Up Bebe by Pamela Druckerman on the side and enjoying that one a lot. It’s a nonfiction musing on the differences between American parenting and French parenting and very interesting and well written.
I’m not making very quick progress with either book at the moment due to sleepiness by the time my head hits the pillow each night, but I’m hoping to get to bed earlier this week to give myself more reading time. Cross your fingers for me!
Picked up some bratwurst spur of the moment this morning for dinner. Delicious, it has been too long. It is synonymous with warm weather but today we just thought warm thoughts and enjoyed a delicious dinner.
Puppy training classes start this weekend along with a much anticipated wedding (and another equally anticipated one next weekend). Add in a game night, team trivia and book club and it’s shaping up to be a fun month.
what are you into these days? Let me know in the comments below!
